Coaching changes are a common theme here in Edmonton, when the whole team basically as Chris suggests tunes out the head coach, ouch! Not a good place to be, VGK does have the roster to turn ship around tho
Chris has been quick to blame cassidy all season.. its a goalie problem.. if the team doesnt play 60 minutes we HAVE to have a goalie that does

Chris, the so called system is the players. The players dictate the system. Different players now so different system. Sometimes, youre in the right place at the right time. Coaches are all frauds.
This is pretty much the season envisioned early. Management has carefully crafted a roster light on physical engagement and edge strong on elite scorers. A more well rounded roster is what other competitive teams have been emphasizing. Not really far from a more effective outcome were management to focus future on acquiring some depth that doesn’t feature generous contracts to older elite players.
If you watched the post game from Cassidy the plan was to have the defenseman shoot a lot more against EDM and let the guys in front put it in. That is how teams have beat them all year. The team did not follow the plan and he was pissed!

Only 7 teams in the nhl have significantly more goals than vegas ( more than 5 away). The coach has a system and is sticking to it and it requires league average tending. Getting bottom of the barrel tending is not going to get tgem there. Cassidy at least has a system, its clear where the improvement needs to be made and he needs to get that tending to be better, and pp needs to be better or at least train one pp line to run a different set play. I dont think there is much else to say but do a bit better as far as coaching is concerned. As management dont blame players because end of the day its how they are coached and managed that determines their performance.
I don’t blame Cassidy because his style and system got us a Cup. The players have been playing awful and giving effort.
You are playing 4 on 4 and your defenseman breaks his stick in your own zone. 2 of your best players have the opportunity to blast the puck down to the other end for an icing so your defense can get a stick? You daintily try to pass the puck within your zone that leads directly to the Oilers 3rd goal. What is with the rolling around in the goal by Hill all about? Nobody even ran into him. He plays like the Panda. Theodore and McNab seem a bit off of their usual decent games. As far as the Eichel short handed goal , big deal. He was responsible as was Barbeshev for the Oilers 3rd goal because they didn’t ice the puck so Andersson could get a stick. You blast that puck out of your zone not turn it over to the Oilers for a goal. When Stone and Karlsson return I also don’t think they will make much of a difference. The team doesn’t gel right now. Maybe try Marner in Net next! Bring back our secret weapon! HOLTZ!😂
Besides stinking up the ice with bad play, we have to listen to over compressed, distorted music with far too much bass from our resident fool in the sound booth. Makes for a terrible fan experience.
I will give the team some credit for effort. Lots of players diving to take away easy goal shots. Problem is that we need lots of players diving to take away easy goal shots.

Long overdue stanley cup hangover. There are too many injuries, hill is having a horrendously bad year, and new players are still adjusting to the new coach/new system. Absolutely nothing is going right. Just punt the season and come back strong next year.
