@Montreal Canadiens

We can all laugh now though…

The Montreal Canadiens pulled off another comeback win, defeating the Los Angeles Kings 4–3 after a wild third period in LA.

Juraj Slafkovsky had a massive night with two goals and an assist, while Nick Suzuki finished the comeback with the game-winning goal late in the third period.

After Alex Laferriere gave the Kings a 3–2 lead in the third, the Canadiens responded quickly. Slafkovsky tied the game on the power play, and just 49 seconds later Suzuki buried the go-ahead goal off a beautiful passing play started by Cole Caufield.

Jake Evans also scored for Montreal, and Jakub Dobes made 36 saves to help secure the win.

The victory was another example of the Canadiens’ resilience this season, as Montreal continues to find ways to battle back late in games.

  1. Fun game. I liked this one… all except for 1 period and a few plays. Hope you had a good night everyone! Please consider subscribing, would love to have you!

  2. Habs can really thank to Dobes for keeping them through first half of the match hanging until they took off in 3rd period. With Monty that wouldnt happen.

  3. Great McDavid collage.
Is Caufield in a slump? No goals on a Saturday night.
Arber demonstrated why he is not the solution to the Habs need for a reliable crease clearing defenceman.
If Monty starts the Toronto game in an attempt to get him started, MSL should be fired.

  4. Before the deadline, Montreal FAILED to get a goalie. Nobody wants Lianne, hence we can't get rid of him. So we cannot afford a goalie. But we will NEVER survive the playoffs with the goaltending we have. Hughes did NOTHING the last three deadlines, and all he talked about was another 2nd line centre. We got goal scoring. But we have goalies that can't keep the puck out of the net. OT loses and 1 goal wins will not give you a cup. Buffalo will knock them out quickly if they even make playoffs!

  5. You forgot to mention that Matheson got minus 3, he was on the ice for the 3 LA goals just pathetic.

  6. Wifi needs a reset…in another market. Pretty sure we’ve seen the last of him in the Bleu Blanc Rouge after this season.

  7. After the game I wondered who would get the wolf. Slaf deserved it with honourable mention to the mattress king

  8. My favorite quote from the announcers was something along the lines of "no foce, no swing, not a slash.. the stick did break though".

Explain that one to me haha

  9. We need Dobes starting for the remainder of the season. He needs to hear from the coaches that he is the guy.

  10. I'm glad you pointed out those TV ads. I'm not the only one who noticed McDavid giving me a lot of advice and telling me where to spend my money 🤨
I don't eat McDonalds or gamble online. Can anyone out there that does either tell me; does seeing these hockey players indorse one really make you want to buy their product more?

  11. Maybe it was here that I heard this but I think I heard a rumor that the team got really sick recently(?) Like a stomach bug or something ran thru a lot of the players. They are starting to look like they're starting to feel better.

  12. GROWING!!!!! Just like the boys on the ice… Thanks for keeping me updated. Have you ever done shorts about upcoming games of the week? Setting the tone for the week would be cool!

  13. We start with nos atatatatataquants lollll i love that you speak french just because you know its mtl

  14. Another great Vid Whiskey. Always appreciate your style of analysis, it's like you were in the room while i was watching the game lol. Well, I see Slav has redeemed my earlier comments concerning his immaturity cause he really came through last night. Feel bad for Arber cause i don't think he has what it will take to stick with the Habs after this season. So many untimely mistakes game after game. I now wish he had played in Laval for a couple of seasons to really find his game because at the core, he could be that tough to play against defenseman, however….i just don't know anymore. GHG

  15. Slaf is becoming a unique player. That's what you want. You can always compare, but when it's hard to find great comparisons that's what you want. Like music, when a band is unique they're great.

  16. i may have a unpopular opinion but …kapannen is not the guys, not the guys to be on a second line.most of his 31 point has been given on a plate by demidov and slaf,it doesn't mean he is not a good player or he is not doing good thing but demidov right now is in a slump and second line isn't going anywhere no matters who you put on the line with them it's not working since we don't have actually anyone other than suzuki, caufield, slaf that can play a high level game like demidov can and it show a lot since the second line has been pretty much invisible since olympic.i know kapannen has been put on second line by ''default'' since we don't have anybody else better at the moment so no hate on him but yeah what i was suspecting in first half of the season is what's happenning right now. we got 3 big weakness showing at this point 1-kapannen is not the second line center we need, hopefully hage comming soon and we have high hope that he is …''THE ONE'' that can take this chair. 2-our defense need a big shutdown guys that can defend well and clean the front of the net. hearing good thing about reinbacher playing well, getting better and staying healthy(well we hope) 3- the most obvious one…goaltending is dobes story and he got basicly no help to relieve this mental pressure to bring this team in playoff.not saying dobes is the man for the futur but he is for ours present.dobes still young still having room for improvement and may be an excellent 2nd goalie,if fowler develop into the main character in net like we hoping and seeing in him at the draft we may have a excellent-solid pair of goalkeeper.

  17. 8:40 YES. That's exactly why he's here, hoping to see him get more ice time next season so he can lock in and perfect his game. We all know now's not the time to do it with the playoffs being right around the corner

  18. So no more roster limits.
They gotta find a more productive line combination down the roster somewhere.
They can't trust Monty, but they can't ride Dobes.

    I would…
    Bring up Fowler
Send Monty to the press box
Alternate Texier, Veleno, Laine, Gally (say he needs a rest) and maybe Bolduc on line 3 and 4 until some combination clicks before the playoffs.
Maybe bring up Engstrum and sit Struble and Xhekaj or not, it's a push.

Nobody cares what I would do though.

  19. Whisky, whats your thoughts one TEXIER scratched over BOLDUC. – im probably biased .
I prefer points / production over more defensively playing guys when GM MODE on Puck pedia

  20. I AM SO GLAD you caught that guy screaming behind the bench at them! When i saw it during the game i was laughing so hard, right there along side him i swear! "WAKE UP LETS GO" im pretty sure that is what he said haha

I have LOVED how confident and calm Dobes has looked, that new coach has done him wonders. He played phenomenally in my opinion. Boys have looked sloppy lately but Dobes has really kept them alive and with play like that coming from him, the boys better rally and get their sh*t together because honestly it has not looked good in california and i know we picked up 4/6, but EVERY point really matters right now and i hope we go on a heater for the last of these games.

Also i love SLAF so much, dude is a damn machine. Can just muscle his way past anything and ends up scoring. Also totally agree with you, they need to shoot more, pass pass SHOOT. Not pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass… whiff….

Finally we GOT a regulation win! FINAAAALLLY. We have switched from a first period and third period team to a second and third period team, and im okay with that if they can just tighten that defense up it would be nice.,

    As always Great video!

  21. That Xhekaj turnover in the third is gonna be the last nail in his coffin. I love him but man… that play is the perfect example why he can't be trusted

  22. Much as I love Arber for his nuclear deterrent capability it's time to admit he's not an NHL defenseman. Too many brain farts and for a big guy he loses a lot of puck battles.

  23. Just remember 4 years ago Habs fans from all over the world were so upset because the Habs did not take Wright 1st over all ? and took Slaf ..now on his 3rd 50 point season at 22 years old…what do you think is going to happen when he is 23-28 lol …trust Kent and Jeff they know what they are doing …
