The Anaheim Ducks controlled much of this game against the Calgary Flames, but overpassing and missed connections nearly cost them early. Lukas Dostal was run into by Joel Farabee at the top of his crease but responded with huge saves, including a breakaway stop after a Pavel Mintyukov turnover. Cutter Gauthier scored twice — including a chaotic second-period goal and a clutch power-play one-timer off beautiful passing from Leo Carlsson, Beckett Sennecke, and Jackson LaCombe. Overtime was wild, but the shootout sealed it as Carlsson and Mason McTavish converted, while Dostal stood tall for the 3–2 win. I love the ducks
While I do agree Mac T needs to show a bit more presence on the ice as of late, it's undeniable that he's an absolute goat in shootouts and has come in clutch for us numerous times this season. He needs to coach some of our squad with that technique!
next two games will be a good measure of where the team is. These last three games have all been nail biters, and two of them should have been much easier wins.
Here's a Hot Take: McTavish's game is better suited for the Wing. He just doesn't have the tools to be that solid 2C. His game is better suited for board play and being the F1 on the forecheck. Sighs I really wish that Zegras trade never happened.
The good days are here. But underlying, we really can't rely on line 1 and 2 in the playoffs. Line 3 is invisible. Line 4 is fine. Granlund, maybe vatrano will need help. This sounds sacrilegious, but Kane would fit. Big body, antagonizing around the net, has enough skill to score, has enough skill to skate, expiring contract. We also need a #1rd. We need to make it so that gudas sees zero #1 or #2 Rd time, and even sits with a platoon with helly and Moore.
We will need to go to another level for the playoffs…would like to add a big stay at home defenseman and a rough tough winger who can score

Really would like to see the Ducks try to get Zach Whitecloud at the deadline… would only be a $2.75 million cap hit for the next 2+ seasons and he would improve our defensive capabilities for sure.
I was so confused before the year when fans were clowning verbeek for mcT not being signed and missing camp as if he was our top player. He's always seemed kinda lazy to me. Probably shoulda took one of the rumored 'big' offer trades.
I think the ducks are actually really good at comebacks this season and I love it. But when the ducks get a lead early they usually keep it and they can always come back from a loosing game. They are nearly unstoppable this season!!!
I think Mac T needs to shoot more than passing I do not know why the coaches make him a play maker
