Noah Ostlund sent down due to numbers crunch, despite playing great for the Buffalo Sabres

Noah Ostlund has had a very strong rookie season with a combination of strong defensive play, and an improving offensive game playing third line center. With the Sabres getting healthier, Ostlund has been sent to Rochester due to a numbers crunch. Should the Sabres have tried harder to find Ostlund a spot in the lineup? Sneaky Joe says Jordan Greenway should’ve been the odd man out, instead of putting Greenway on the top line.

Plus, the Sabres are putting Tage Thompson back at center, and the lineup immediately looks better. And UPL gets another crack at the net heading into a matchup with the Calgary Flames, who are playing better since playing the Sabres in Buffalo.

    Wouldn’t put Greenway on first line.. also why call up Metza? Why not bring up Zac Jones who has 20 points in Rochester..

    Ruff et al have done a terrible job adjusting to the second change on the road. Several defense men are being "challenged" . Sabres need a big game from the goaltender.

    UPL Shouldve been GONE instead hes now the starter while Lyon and Ellis were bith playing AMAZING…he comrs back amd completely DESTROYED Lyon and Ellis AMAZING synergy they had going in…now UPL is playing his usual crap….Greenway on the 1st line, Oustland now in Roch….i was a Lindy defender…IM DONE. Im done with the entire regime….they are HORRIBLE at this

    A pleasant problem w so many 1st round picks creates a roster problem so i think you use some of your capital to acquire top six talent. Thats a risk you have to take to better the team.

    Greenway and Krebs are AHL players at best. Contract they handed Greenway was a joke. He earns like a million a point lol Adams is a joke.

    I also would rather see Doan and Benson on separate lines unless that line turns into PPG players because of Benson and Doan being together.

    Doan played 2 minutes on the PK in Utah last year. Krebs has been on the ice for 22 goals against in his last 75 minutes of PK time with a .730 save %. More Joe showing his knowledge of the team.

    You need to flip the depth of this team now. There is an article about 4 Sabres that should be trade. Power is on that list. Its time to flip Power for a high scoring winger. Sharks do not have any young Defensemen like Power. Can you flip Power for Will Smith? This is the kind of trade the Sabres need a top 6 or even someone that can be a top line scoring winger. Someone that will consistently put up 30+ goals a year.
    We also need to flip Lyon or UPL to open up space for Ellis and Levi.
    Can we send Malenstyn out for a mid round pick? I with keep Greenway just because its unlikely you will be able to trade him.
    We need to send Krebs out as well. Kozak is good enough for your C4.
    If Tuch is not going to sign we need to look for a hockey trade for Tuch. We need to get a top 6 forward in return that has years left on him. If a team is willing to put up a Younger player who is starting to make his way in the league I would allow that team to talk to Tuch about a contract.
    We also need to open up a spot for Ostlund and make a path for Rosen.

    Ruff made himselt sound stupid in the pc on the reasoning to send him back. It's like they don't want to score, or hold onto the puck. Awful choice for a team struggling to win. Send a lineup guy down for scratch is ridiculous.
