  1. Honestly, I didn’t think the Isles played all that well for most of the game. I mean, we barely pulled off a win against a team coming off a back to back where they lost to the depleted Blues. Yikes. It was a tough watch, IMO. The way the isles have played the last several games actually makes me worry about potentially losing our playoff spot: struggling to finish, a lack of hunger, absolutely ATROCIOUS pp, and sloppy defense. At least Sorokin appears to have returned to pre-Olympic form, and were it not for his solid performance we’d have lost this game.
I do have to say though that I liked Schenn’s play. His grit is obvious, and it’s something we’ve sorely lacked. I hope it rubs off on the other guys.
If our PP remains this way, there’s little point to even making the playoffs because it’s going to destroy any hope of even squeaking out of the first round. Special teams are critical in the postseason, and ones this bad aren’t going to get anywhere.

  2. The biggest change between this season and the past few is the Isles holding on to regulation ties instead of giving up late goals and winning the OTs instead of losing them. Thats translating into the points keeping them in playoff contention this season.
