Schenn was on my radar because heās got 2yrs left. He could take Leeās place if they donāt resign him and is cheaper. The ālossā of Drouin was an unexpected wrinkle. Giving up the 1st rounder was a bit steep but Iāll trust that Darche has a plan for the offseason. I used to live in Tampa so Iām familiar with his work.
Respectfully disagree with you. The deal is good. We gave up no impact players. Schenn is a SOLID 2C for us for this season and only 2 more years. Pageau is an effective 3C , but I do think 3 years more might be a stretch. Hope he proves me wrong! Moving Barzy to Boās wing is good ONLY IF HE SHOOTS MORE!!!
I dont think the price was high. Colorados pick will likely be close to the 30th pick. Drouin's confidence went to shit. He simply couldnt score, and God knows Roy gave him EVERY opportunity to do so. -We need help passing. Our passing absolutely sucks. Schenn is a terrific passer. -We need a lot of help on the PP. Schenn is terrific on the PP. -We need leadership with all the young talent we have (Ritchie, Eiserman, Eklund, Prokhorov, etc. Even defensemen like Schaef and Aitcheson will benefit) *Not that we severely lacked leadership, Lee, Bo, Palms, Pager….but a guy like Schenn cant hurt

Schenn is a great pick up. I think fans wanted a Kyrou or Thomas (which werent moved but will be over the summer….joining their old captain on LI is now a strong possibility)
