The Dallas Stars had their franchise-record 10-game winning streak snapped in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche Friday night at American Airlines Center. The Stars led 3-1 and 4-2, but gave up the tying goal with 13 seconds left in regulation on a 6-on-5 extra attacker goal by Valeri Nichuskin. Lost ground in the afternoon in talent at the deadline,& then at night in the division! I'm guessing your fans are upset about more than just this game! Far from over but tonight makes it far more likely you have to worry about getting home ice on,& beating Minny before ya worry about us. 7 pts up,we likely get tiebreaker,& 1 in hand is far from insurmountable but not easy either. (granted 2 matchups left) Minny even less likely to catch us-9 pts up,we have 2 in hand,,& tiebreaker already basically guaranteed for us.
They have a lot better shot catching you for home ice than anybody out West has of catching us-especially if we win our last game with them Sunday in Denver. But yes it would be another great series if it happens. And yes the NHL playoff format is ludicrous cuz we should have a chance at 2 of Colorado,Dallas,or Minnesota playing 2nd round & other 2 maybe playing in WCFs but Gary loves this unfair,jackass playoff setup so what can ya do?
The Stars will never win a cup with Jake unfortunately. No team in history has won with a goalie dripping an .881 save %. Pete knew it and he was right.
"Jake won 8 straight games"… allowing an average of 3 goals a game with 1 game above .900% for the first 6. And the last 2 against awful teams. What I found amazing about his personal unbeaten streak… was how mediocre he played during it.

Other than the Johnston goal, look at the goals Dallas scored compared to the Avs putting Oettinger in a highlight reel for the wrong reasons.
