  1. A desperation move for a playoff spot for a team that has more holes than Swiss cheese. Just pathetic!!!

  2. Note: this was recorded pre-game – the Larkin (hopefully not serious) injury will be covered on Sunday's episode. 🙃

  3. Can't say i've been following buch but some say hes been a small non competitive forward. Yzerman hates both of those things.

  4. Genborg’s strong season may have made it more palatable to lose Buchelnikov.
Hope Larkin will be OK and that Faulk is able to fit in well.

  5. If 37 year old Perron can make it back from hernia surgery 😂.. He and faulk combined make Detroit the 6th oldest team in the league.

  6. Giving up a first plus as a team that is not truly competitive just to make the playoffs is such a classic mistake. And if that pick ends up being a lottery pick Steve's gotta go.

  7. From what I remember, an interview with The Russian kid, his dream was to play for the wings..
Maybe he comes back down the road… hopefully…

  8. Have to disagree about costs paid for Faulk. Would OEL been comparable? I think so and would have been more cost effective and definitely no first round pick. Carlson went and he would have transformed our blue line. How many RH dmen were traded in the last few days? Many would have done the job for less. Comparatively he was very expensive for what he might deliver. Also Perron is great in the room but we needed offense badly. Steve did protect his AHL assets though. Ugggh.

  9. Finally Buchelnikov is about to finish his contract and be ready to come over to NA, we definitely could use him next year and… we trade him away..

  10. Can we talk about how bad Kane has been? He loses every puck battle. Gets pushed off the puck. No clutch factor. I don’t think he can be here next year.

  11. Buchelnikov is already 22 years old. It’s crazy to say a 22-year-old (23 in September) is an “old” player, but for a prospect that is getting up there a little and hasn’t even played pro yet, it’s a fair point. If he does come over next season, he likely would have been on the Griffs, and if he’s not as pro-ready as some think he is, it could easily be a year or two before he’s battling for a spot on the Wings. At that point, he could be closing in on 25.

While you hate to lose any prospect and would love to develop them all, of the ones they had to deal I think this was a good option. His value is higher because of that unknown factor. It’s definitely a gamble if injury or a collapse occurs, but I think the backlash would have been worse had they done nothing. Looking at this optimistically, if they do get in or just miss out, that pick isn’t going to be that high, and the player picked would be a long way from helping this current core.

They still have plenty of assets to go big-fish hunting this offseason as well.

  12. 😂😂😂 when will you wings fans learn as long as you have that senile GM and glass boned Larkin leading the team y’all won’t ever make the playoffs?

  13. Same day we get Perron and Faulk we might potentially lose Larkin to a leg injury. Are we cursed or something?

  14. 8 years and this is where we're at. The trades okay. We needed a defenseman.. but if you can't score you can't win. I don't care what kind of defense you have. Basic math. You let a team score goal that means you need to score two to win. And if your team can't muster up goals then you're going to lose. I smell rebuild in 2 years. You can't score a goal on a 3 on 1 a 2 on one and breakaway . They just need to win nine games to get into the playoffs.. I say they fall short by three points again. See you all next year
