There is no doubt that the Leafs need a change when it comes to their GM. But who is available? I do not have an issue with Craig Berube. I think the Leafs could win with his system, but the Leafs need to surround Matthews and Nylander with better players. Last year's Marner sign and trade was a blunder move by Treliving because Marner is a star top line player but Nic Roy is only an alright bottom six center. So the biggest issue with Treliving is that he shows horrendous asset management. And giving up first round picks for big, slow, tough, players who do not have a lot in the way of good hockey skills except for being big is very questionable.
How much money did they save trading McMann and Laughton? Trading away good draft picks for average players is all part of being a Leafs fan. You're young, accepting it now makes life less stressful.

So what you’re saying is they should have multiple first round picks for everybody, you’re delusional. So according to you two, they shouldn’t have traded them and then probably let them walk for nothing…that is insane. The difference here is for Laughton they overpaid to get him and the current market didn’t value him as high. It is what it is. McMann there wasn’t the demand especially as he is a free agent this summer. They could resign them in the summer if they are still available and they want to. I would have cut them both lose. Most average players which is what McMann is hit their peak at 27, He past that and will only decline from here…and what he wants to get paid which I would bet is overvalued to what he brings. Better to get something than nothing. As to management, my opinion is they make some crazy moves…

I’d like to know, which Leaf scout thought Laughton was an impact player? I’d watch a few Flyers game before the trade, and he was a nonexistent player then for the Flyers! What a joke of a trade! Bérubé wanted his input on the team, inexcusable by Treliving and Bérubé on the team lineup!

Did not trade any of the obvious candidates. These players have been receiving big money for many years with no results. There is no accountability on this team. Tavares is the only player who understands the meaning of the word ‘team.’

What is obvious is the GM's in the league do not hold Tre in high esteem. They fleeced him last year for picks and young talent and again this year for UFA's. Time to burn it down starting with GM, Coach and key players
