We have been saying they need a 2 C since last year and nothing. You make a trade to Win now. Holding on to guys that may be stars someday when you are close makes no sense. Sorry!!!! You pay the price to win the cup. Ask Florida. Look at Minnesota. We had soooooo much cap room….BS.

It's obvious now… Carolina doesn't have the ownership or the management or the coaching staff to win the cup… it's a nice little team….
The Canes like being able to brag they win at least 1 round in the playoffs. This team DOESN'T care about winning a Stanley Cup. The worry about what MIGHT happen in the future. The Islanders, Buffalo, Tampa, Columbus, Detriot, Minnesota, Dallas & Colorado ALL MADE BIG MOVES. Rod loves being a bridesmaid and maybe his way isn't going to take Carolina past the ECF. He would rather LOSE with Freddie and a midget winger playing 2C
I don't understand trading for Deslauriers. I like Deslauriers, but Carolina just doesn't use enforcers, they never have one. Is Rod even gonna play him?
The asking prices for short term upgrades was largely ridiculous. The same people who say "pay any price to get better" are the same ones who complain when their team is outside the playoffs but has almost no picks to rebuild with.
