This will go down as the worst press conference in Flyers history. First, Danny yells at the media for running with Risto stories. Then he throws the coach he hired under the bus. Another botched trade deadline where he failed to get any value and pearl clutched his potential UFA’s.

Extremely disappointing trade deadline, Briere. You could have traded Dvorak, Juulsen or Risto and you extended Dvorak and sat on the other two. For all their pluck the team severely lacks top end talent and you’re not going to get better sitting on assets you don’t need. The Brink/Jiricek trade was a small step but not nearly enough. I doubt you’re dumb enough to believe what you’re saying here today because with Risto’s injury history the time to sell on him was yesterday.
"Risto has a lot of value to our team" when he's on the wrong side of 30, his contract expires next year, and this team is no where close to being remotely good is an insane thing to say
Zegras not a center? Nonsense. Considering the effort org went to acquire him — maneuvering w/Anaheim over more than a year — and that Flyers' greatest positional need is at center, why on Earth is Briere allowing head coach to pigeonhole Zegras? Absurd.
This season is over. Play him at center every game so we can see what we have. His best seasons in his career were when he was a center. Tocchet's system isn't utilizing him correctly and it's biasing the talent evaluation — a child could see this. The revelation that Danny now views Zegras as a winger is perhaps the most disappointing thing we learned from the presser.
Coots cates and devorak is just a serious problem im not even sure how you fix. Happy we got vladar and forester is getting healthy. Also need to figure out the defense with risto cam yorke and nick seeler. We have too many defenseman that are just so whatever. We need more guys who can make plays all we have is sanheim and drysdale its not gonna cut it. Hopefully this new guy can develop but not loving what I hear so far that hes big but isn't that physical. Too many nights this team just gets manhandled on the boards and destroyed in the face off dot

Danny is a smart GM. He knows the best thing for the Flyers is to get as high of a draft pick as they can this year; but at the same time, not let other teams fleece him for a player with value like Ristolainen. Good moves. The Flyers are in great hands.

Last summer was good. Patience is a virtue. Let’s see were we are in Oct 2026. Born in 1967, I too have been waiting a long time… but I can wait some more.
