As a caps fan, I don't like the trade. Dowd does what a lot of other players don't. We are going to miss him.

Good trade for both. Caps prospect pool is the best it’s been in a while, and I’d imagine that both picks get traded eventually
From Vegas, Get a Veteran Guy for relatively cheap by Vegas standards. This move though indicates that we won't have William Karlson or Brett Howden any time soon, and we'd definitely like those guys back instead. We'll see how it goes, but still expecting something in the goaltender dept before this time tomorrow.
Sad to see dowd go, but also understand the return for him is great and he doesnt exactly fit into the plan of getting younger. One of the most beloved players on the team both by fans and the players.

Dowder is loved in DC. He’s having a down year, which isn’t surprising, pretty much everyone is in dc right now. Outside of maybe Chychrun.
I would recommend watching the pinholes graham video on Dowd from last year, he’s actually pretty good offensively compared to his ozone starts. You’re getting him for his shutdown ability, hoping it’s a team downtrend not just him.
You should look at the channel 'diary of a ceo'. Their thumbnail structure would work a lot better for this i think then what you're currently doing.

Listening to the breakdown of this trade vs the Dickenson trade. Makes me realize that no one cares what the move is, if it is done by Bowman, majority of people are going to hate it. Vegas overpays for a depth defensive center? That is just what they do, they are good a team. Oilers do it? They are just making mistake after mistake with their roster creation.
