I don’t think they should touch the first three lines at all; they work great right now.

C’mon, u r not going to deal Sherwood after signing him for 5 years.
The Edmonton first and Musty would be a reasonable start. Yes, Nemec was a former #2, but if he was playing up to his draft level he wouldn’t be on the trade block.
There’s risk here for SJ.
Since Devils want a NHL ready top 6 forwards, most likely either Eklund or Graf will be part of the trade. Which also will help opening a spot for Chernyshov to have a mostly guaranteed top 6 role next season
No way you trade Ekland, Musty and a 1st for Nemec. Sherwood has a NTC and is going nowhere. This package is for a player like NY Rangers Dman Fox. I would do a second and Musty or a first for Nemec. No need to overpay. If we trade a 1st and Musty for Nemec that’s fine. Far as it goes.
Your crazy. I would love to trade with you. I would give up Sherwood, klingberg, and a first pick Edmonton's. Devils replace Nemec with klingberg for season and get rid of him. Sherwood is not a good fit for the sharks he is a third liner at age 30. Don't like his contract either. Over paid especially in 4th and 5th year. Devils get what they want an upgrade forward and a first round pick. Sharks get a young defenseman which they need. Does not hurt the Sharks chances for this year because they lose a little with forwards but gain on defense.
They didn’t sign Sherwood to trade him. They move him in this deal and they are out the two 2nd round picks to get him, Musty who was a 1st, Eklund who was a 1st, and a 1st round pick who has a high ceiling but isn’t playing meaningful minutes against top lines. It’s just ridiculous. Love the player, want the player, but he not Mathew Schaefer. So at that price, NO WAY!

You’re almost certainly going to have to give up Colin Graf for him. Promising young forward on an expiring deal. And I would be pretty upset if that happens. The only other option would be to package Bystead and Musty together.

Nemec would be an awesome get for the Sharks, for sure. It will cost BIG, however. NJ isn’t looking for a fair deal, instead they’re looking to see how much other teams are willing to overpay. If the Devils aren’t blown away they’ll keep him. They have no urgency to move him. Their thinking, “give us with an offer we can’t say no to.” (In other words, fair market value offers need not apply.)

We cannot overpay for an under performing D man just because we’re desperate. I say no on throwing in Eklund in this package. This Team has Chemistry and will only get better, don’t throw a wrench in it!
If NJ wants a top 6 forward maybe try and get a three way trade with NYR to get them Trocheck while NYR gets the EDM pick, SJ could retain some of his salary to make deal work. And if possible they could try and add Schneider to the deal somehow so Sj could get two quality young RD.
Musty, Lilj & 2028 2nd pick. I think its a good deal.
Anyone saying we should trade Graf is beside themselves 😂 Dude literally plays all the positions for us. He should be a nonnegotiable player.
Trading the young talent is a dumb move. Especially 2 forwards when we "need" a defenseman. It just doesn't make sense. No need to add anybody else this year.
Moving Sherwood would send the wrong message but moving Eklund might make sense with a first and a B level prospect. Nemec would be an home run of a pickup and like you said fits perfect with the Sharks. One can hope!
