the lesson learned was Ullmark will never get better cause he hates his job, is lazy af, does nothing to improve his play except go on vacation, and thinks hes god cause Boston won him awards.
I still don’t think that Ullmark is playing very well! Pucks in the crease or at his feet he’s struggling with!

There are 2 weaknesses to Ottawa.You need a top pairing right shot d man,and an elite top six player.
For this year,acquiring a solid top pairing right shot d man could be all you can afford.
The reason Weegar would work as that player is because they have Yakemchuk and Hensler.
A mentor for your d core.Weegar is 32 which means he should have another 3 years as a top pairing then he would move down to second to third pairing.Somebody in the locker room that gives you guys a competitive edge.
You guys lost to the runner up to the Stanley Cup 2 years in a row,and probably this year as well.Dont hold your heads down.You guys can be an elite team you have the makings.

Gotta say, that was some serious rationalization about the OT circumstances. You don't think a one-off 3-on-2 is better than 2 minutes of 4-on-3 against the best PP in the league? Brady didn't need to take on McDavid, he could have switched off and taken Draisaitl who was behind McDavid and is slower. Sandy had McDavid covered. That seemed more like an ego play than a well thought out hockey play. I also think there is no question starting Brady was poor coaching. You know who you're facing, so put out speed and look to neutralize them and attack on the next shift.
To me, the true frustration about this game is that the second Oilers' goal was scored carelessly by Batherson and the third was set up by Pinto carelessly when he was under no pressure. Sitting back wasn't great, but without those two Senator "contributions", the Oilers need to score 3 goals with the goalie pulled. And I doubt they would have gotten another huge break like that brutal icing call that set up the game tying faceoff (which let's get real, should have been Giroux).
What about AJ Greer. Could possibly sign in Ottawa and could fit in bottom 6 with energy and grit.
Out of 22 games we need to win at least 14 to stand a chance, so no chance in making it in my eyes

I agree with Pillsy. I would rather gamble in the mid draft and go with the team as is instead of going the bottom six/pair rental route
