Fast will be missed very much. Such a class act and heart and soul of the Rangers. Best of luck with your new team.
Seems to me the rangers are looking for another top 3 pick next year in the draft. Our penalty kill and def with be far worse than last year. Offense only gets you so far.The effort level on the rangers will also go down.

Great players coming up the next several years we’ll need to be letting many favorites go both to make room for new ones coming up to have enough money to keep things under the salary cap … as younger players will require less money.. too bad it’s such a hard salary cap … I think like Gorton there’s no need or even ability to sign some of the bigger names out there.. if we do how can we sign our own players going for larger contracts .. we can literally scout, draft, farm & de elope our own players.. bringing in Panarin & Trouba last year was a recssecity to help us win some games and mentor the youngsters this keeps the rookies minds in a positive state. We need to keep a lot of money UNDER the cap without spending so that we’ll have in the coming couple years as we will more than likely be FLAT CAPPED .. YOULL be sorry if we over spend and caught unawares to resign our youngsters when they go for bridge deal or higher ..
Rangers fan: 2 mil for him is a total steal. Annoyed with JG for not resigning him. Great team player with consistency and defensive mind. Also small correction: Kreider is the last one from the 2014 cup run.
Ah, a bit disappointed by this. Fast is still pretty young and for only 2 mil we could have easily done this. He's one of those players that you need in long playoff runs. In today's league you can rarely win with total skill alone. You need good defensive, gritty and situational players as well. Best of luck to you Fast, the Canes get even harder to play against…. But yeah I do fully trust in JD. LGR!!

I think the Rangers are going to pick up Tyler Johnson from the Lightning. Not sure what the cap hit is going to be, but they try trading for him earlier, so their is interest in him.

Fast (Quickie as A.V. named him) will be missed. He could play up and down the line-up and a solid locker room guy. Money-wise I get it…again looking ahead for Mika and such…not to mention the upcoming arbitration's of Strome and DeAngelo. Nice vid/job Tyler !!

I completely expected this. There was no room for him and his salary would be a waste of money. Sorry, but this is true. The Rangers have a lot of kids coming up. Trust me this is GOOD for the Rangers.
Fast was my favorite player and now he is gone , yes he was not the fastest, not the biggest, not most talented, but most reliable and in my opinion even 2 buchneviches are not worth 1 JESPER SMH, well for 2 mill Carolina got a decent player, good for them, I hope they win because rangers ain't winning shit next season, probably won't even make the playoffs
