My word the audio is sooooo badly scratchy after the goal is scored guys… Killing my ears with headphones on…😅
Only 4/5 points out of a playoff spot now! (Somehow lol, because the west is so bad as a whole this year, only Anaheim has more W's than L's in the Pacific division alone. Central isn't much better besides Dallas and Colorado ofcourse…)
PLEASE don't fool yourself Chevy and ownership… Please don't try and avoid being sellers. Please don't let us lose Big Stan for absolutely nothing like we lost Ehlers for absolutely nothing as a "free rental" – We have some D depth finally. Flip Big Stan into a top 6 winger or something. Get us our long overdue Ehlers replacement, because it sure hasn't been Nyquist or any other plan(s) we came up with this past offseason.
Look how Colorado handled Rantanen. Despite being a very good Stanley cup threat, they weren't going to lose Rantanen for nothing after being unwilling or unable to give him the cap hit he was gonna earn… We didn't have the cahonies to trade Ehlers while being a good team last year.
Way too often this year we look EXACTLY like the oldest and slowest team in the league, because that's exactly what Chevy built us into. He shouldn't be allowed to make even more mistakes in the name of correcting this mess and trying to force a square peg into a round playoff hole…
When we got ATL, they were a team seriously lacking top end talent, and wasnt a threat in any way shape or form to win the cup, nevermind even make playoffs, THEN we had NO issues playing our draft picks and developing them into real NHL talent ofcourse…
…But after we got KC 17th overall in 2015, and ESPECIALLY after the Laine pick in 2016/the final four run in 2017/2018, 8.5 years now minimum, we haven't drafted and developed a single handful of fricken players for ourselves, because we aren't comfortable playing young people anymore while "trying to be in win now mode." The vet bias is so insane with this team now.
Since fricken PoMo had this issue of HATING playing young guys in favour of guys like Matt Hendricks (multiple times we brought him aboard late in his career funnily enough.) All because our coaches would rather a vet make a mistake, and give vets free passes to make mistakes, but would punish and bench young players who did the exact same things.
Even Rick Bones and company did serious damage imo to our relationship as an organization with a guy like Perfetti, when he punished him multiple different times over multiple different things, benching him come playoff time one year, all while giving other players a total pass for the same type of mistakes.
Funny enough we have developed a handful of players for other teams! We get players up to the point it was time to get them permanent NHL action, but since we wouldn't do it, other teams picked said talent up on waivers for free, and found permanent NHLers! Chisholm, Kovacevic, Harkins is now a permanent part of a good Anaheim team… Could keep going… Especially if you include guys not drafted, that did a lot of developing with us, like Essyimont is a great example.
Big Stan finally came around, Perfetti, Samberg… Who else? Barron wasn't drafted by us…
