What the hell is that based on? Winning the Norris trophy in 2019? Being the Captain for eight years and a member of the Flames for 13 seasons?
Fresh starts in professional sports are optimal following a difficult pandemic season? Is that it? A single game short of catching Montreal who ultimately went to the Cup Final. At the age of 38?
The Pacific Division in ‘relative terms’ Richard; is the easily the weakest in hockey. So is it a tough division because it’s composed of NHL teams? Anaheim, LA, San Jose, Vancouver, Arizona?
Calgary is either going to go up in Flames or finish in first place as they did in 2019 when our captain was languishing. He was just desperate for a change of scenery.

Why do have to step on Giordano’s continued success and desire to play for Calgary in order to highlight how great he will be for Seattle?

Seattle will likely enjoy coverage that makes justifications for mediocrity and puts faces in I-5 billboards. Try to fill the place for at least three seasons please.
As someone who has nearly pure Danish heritage living in Northern California and the Pacific NW I can assure you that the presence of Scandinavians in both regions is as low as anywhere in the United States.

Kraken comes from Scandinavian folklore. Kraken are said to exist in the NORTH ATLANTIC off the coasts of modern day Norway and Greenland (Denmark).
