Coaching and ownership Isn't his fault
When has he ever done this team any favors? He's played for a contract twice. That's it. Keep him now until he plays good, then trade him. Punish him by keeping him there until he plays his way out
I mean he had a great game vs Slovakia ( i think ) with two goals but then disappeared the next game and lost minutes the next
He makes 11.6 million dollars! Isn't that enough motivation to show everyone he's good game in and game out? He just have no drive for the game simple as that. Quinn didn't want to be in Van anymore either but he was still elite every night.

Alvin and Rutherford butchered this team. Traded all the best players while signing the emotionless Petey to a crazy contract. Benning had built a team with five All-Star players and some key grit guys. If we would’ve just kept Horvat, Miller, Hughes, Podkolzin etc but trade traded Petey we could’ve had a contender
