  1. Unless you're Jimmy Carson, you're injured or you're over the hill, you don't stop being a 100 point player. I'd fully expect EP40 to be an 80+ point player in the right situation. If this was pre-Cap days, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But Bettman needed some of his pet projects in the US to not go belly up. A team like the Rangers in the early 2000s would take him on with no salary retention and given the Canucks back a good package for him. A wealthy team could take him on as a reclamation project and probably do quite well. The secret to Petey is the right situation. He'd have to go to a team like Carolina that had 2 really good players on a line. Outside of Crosby and McDavid, very few players can carry 3rd liners on their own. I know he gets a lot of hate in Vancouver, but if he went to another franchise in the right situation, he could be a real asset again. But they have to recognize the type of player that he is. He's a 2 way finesse player. If he's trying to throw hits, he's out of his element. And you don't need every player to be a power forward. I just foresee him being traded and the same fans who slandered him for years will be furious with the return. If you called him a 3rd line player, don't be surprised when that's basically the return.

  2. Pettersson doesn't the the passion or desire to win as a teamplayer or even exceed individually. He's happy collecting a cheque. And because of this I sincerely doubt he ever gets back to form in Vancouver and doubt even more someone else will take a chance him. Unfortunate to say as someone who was once a big fan of his and excited to watch him 3-4 nights a week.

  3. In what world does anyone roll dice on that contract or does Vancouver ever retain any amount of cap for what's left on that contract?

  4. I think only BrindAMour in Carolina could be one of a very few that could light a fire under EP40s skinny butt…… that's a massive feat only a champ like Rod could accomplish; that is, only if he wanted to… and I dont think he'd want to mentor that kid myself.

  5. A first coming back to get off the money? Mabye a first going with him. Or eat several million a year. He’s the 7th highest paid player player that has lost his way. Horrible contract that would handcuff a team for years to come if he dosnt find his way back to form

  6. Nobody wants a guy who has no value whatsoever. Dude is a complete bozo. There are 19 yr old’s that look like Wayne Gretzky in comparison to this POS.

  7. IF the Canucks don’t wanna retain anything, well. They’ll have to attach 1st, 2nd round picks and or prospects in order to get rid of that contract.

  8. Bad teamate, bad contract, 2nd liner at best, vancouver would have to retain and give a pick, this would be a gm killer

  9. Hilarious, they traded assets and players to make cap space to resign him to a long term contract just to trade him. Good luck.
