Opportunity Knocks: Why Habs should make a big trade

Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes has been stockpiling prospects and draft picks for the past three years, but is now the time to part with those assets and take a real shot at the Cup this season? Carlo Colaiacovo and Aaron Korolnek weigh in on Canada’s most intriguing team, just a couple days before the trade deadline.

  1. thomas is going to buffalo….. if he will go to mtl then give them reinbacher and a first round pick any day of the week

  2. As a Habs fan…no thanks

I still remember McDanaugh for Gomes, Sergachev for Drouin….we dont need to do anything, Suzuki/Hage/Kapanen/Evans down the middle is the future.

  3. Thomas is not Wayne G. Thomas is not worth 4 first picks and player rooster too. Sorry, that would kill the Habs future. Thanks Kevin

  4. We are still way ahead of schedule. Youngest team in the league, amazing drafting, and amazing development.
We should keep the trend going and keep our prospects still, why would we rush it. Makes no sense.

  5. Do it ! No one has any idea what Hage will turn into. Hage is good. But he’s being treated like he’s on the level of eichel, celebrini, Fantilli, will smith etc. he’s not the best player in the ncaa and there’s players younger than him who are outperforming him

  6. Montreal can’t afford to lose current roster players and they can’t really afford to give up too many of their promising prospects. Danault, Gallagher and Anderson may not be around next season. Kapenen and Hage are naturals to permanently fill those roster spots. One of the young Laval defence men and draft picks over the next few years could be expendable for future help.

  7. Leaf media begging Habs to ruin their future💀🤦🏽‍♂️ Leaf media should stick to their team😂😂

  8. Vegas is not better than Buffalo, stop it. VGK are simply the least garbage team in a garbage division, but Buffalo has clearly been the better team this season.
