It’s Time to Sell in Winnipeg

With the Winnipeg Jets being stuck in the NHL’s basement, it’s more than likely we’ll see a couple of moves before the trade deadline. How much change will we see to this roster that desperately needs altered?

  1. Sell Hellebuyck. Trade value has never been as high as it is now and an American team would trade a boat load of assets for him.

  2. if you are wondering why the numbers of the prospects are so low i suggest you check out the line ups for them on a weekly bases and then you would understand… not sure why Philip di Giuseppe and Mason Shaw needs 18 mins a night but okay….

also for everyone saying sell Helleybuck you have no idea what Repocussions your are asking for…. what Helly has given you folks you will never and i mean ever receive again in your entire life… you will die never have seen a goalie suite up for your jets as good as Helly… The Vaule he brings to the jets is unmatched across the leauge… you wont recover.

  3. More than ready to see it all blown-up.
Can't bear the thought of running this pos back one more time 🤮

  4. Mark Chipman & True North’s largest enemy is themselves for being TOO DEDICATED They need a new direction meaning a new GM. I’m bringing it up again 15 YEARS!!!!… one western conference appearance 2018 because of BUFF. President’s award big deal. It’s about winning the cup. The stupid vision of draft develop is useless. We need a NEW GM with a NEW VISION and who wants to WIN the cup NOT just making the playoffs.

  5. They have to move Stan. Schenn and Nyquist are worth nothing. Demelo might be worth something. Barron would be too but do we want him?

Arniel probably has to go. Chevy iced a bad team but I'm not sure how confident I am in Arniel

  6. Do not get rid of Barron won’t get much for him and he will be a stud. Trade Stanley, Toews, nino, demelo maybe perfetti depending what he’s worth and dump schenn

  7. Trade off the guys if you can like Schenn,Stanley,Miller,Pearson,Koepke,Nino,Namestnikov,Nyquist.

-Insiders say it's buyers market if a team like Montreal needs to move Laine throws in sweetner do it.
    – I'd do Perfetti+ for Wright
    – and see if can't buy low we should be keeping as much picks as we can. But if we can get a signed 2nd liner example like a Debrusk and only give up prospects like Chibrikov,Lambert,Gus,Heinola,Barlow,He,Engle. I'd do it Debrusk played with Lowry in Swift Current Lowry was his Captain.

    Then just wait til offseason/draft
    Connor Scheifele Villardi
    Laine Wright Debrusk
    Barron Lowry Yager
Zhilkin Toews start calling moose guys up.

  8. This team is so miserable to watch that I’d rather have the jets team from 2011-2015 back. At least those guys had some heart and soul out there

  9. If the Jets want to change their roster then move a DMan Morrisey or Forward Kyle Conner for top prospect and picks then build the team around Helli and 55

  10. In my view, the only untouchables should by Scheifele, Morrissey, and Hellebuyck (who are all amazing) and Stanley. I know people will question keeping Stanley, but in my view, we need his toughness and willingness to fight, and he's become a pretty good defenceman. Players we should get rid of start with Perfetti (I've coached 12 year olds with more drive and toughness than Perfetti), followed by Iafollo, Namestnikov and Niederreiter. I also think Connor looks disinterested in being a Jet, so if we can get a few high draft choices for him, I would move him. And please, please, don't bring Laine back. He's all talent, no heart, which is a bad combination.

  11. I think the Jets focused too much on winning as much as possible during the regular season. They never needed to be the best team during the regular season, they just needed to get in to the playoffs. They could have used the regular season to develop players more while focusing on longer term competitiveness. This could of helped alleviate the need to bring in some of the slower vets at the expense of draft picks and salary cap. They also would have drafted a little higher. So, for me, the issue is that they strayed from their draft and development mentality. This could extend to the Moose (with the exception of Declan Chisolm, they haven't produced an NHL caliber player under Morrison) and their scouting department (they have a very poor track record lately for drafting and developing depth players outside the 1st round or even in the late 1st round). This failure to draft and develop compounds the need to acquire aging assets at the trade deadline in exchange for picks. For example, when they drafted Ville Heinola in the first round, they missed out on Jackson LaCombe (currently a 40 pt d-man drafted in the 2nd round). Having a 40 pt D-man last year would have meant no need to trade assets for Luke Schenn…So either they missed the mark at the draft, or they didn't develop the asset they got. Either way, the team is bleeding and they need to make some corrections for the poor trades and acquisitions (shed all those under performing vets to recoup some assets and make room to develop their existing prospects), and look into fixing their draft and development program (Get new coaches for the AHL team, retool their scouting department and retool the Jets assistant coaching staff).
