How will the Canadiens be approaching this deadline?

The Montreal Canadiens are expected to take a measured, long-term approach at the deadline, prioritizing development and smart asset management over aggressive win-now moves. While they’ve shown improvement this season, the focus remains on building around their young core rather than sacrificing future pieces. One name linked to Montreal is Rasmus Ristolainen, whose size and physical presence could add depth to their blue line. However, any potential move would likely depend on cost, as the Canadiens remain cautious about taking on long-term commitments during their rebuild phase.

  1. Marco gets it and hopefully the Habs go through with it. Montreal needs a top gritty pure defenseman with size but can skate.

  2. If only they had a strong defenceman that wasn't afraid of anyone in the league… Where oh where could they find one of those that they can keep out of the lineup because MSL doesn't like them
