Who do you think starts the season on the 4th line for the Canucks?
I really liked Lockwood, I hope he gets a shot on that 4th line RW spot
my forward lines without sutter or motte would be
Hoglander – Petey – Boeser
Podkolzin – Miller – Garland
Pearson – Horvat – Highmore
Petan – Dickinson – MacEwen
MacEwen is good because of his grit an aggressiveness that trumps anyone else in that category. Maybe Lockwood can slot in there too.
Clay you have become my trusted Canucks source. I swear all Canuck fans could just listen to you and the twitter negativity will follow the dodo bird.
I would like to see MacEwan, Gadjovich & Lockwood make the team to start the season. They have shown good skating ability and some much needed toughness. Some of the other guys like Highmore and Di Giuseppe just haven't done enough nor are they big enough.
Miller won't play center if Boesser is out for any length of time. I prefer him on the top line as a winger. And where do you play Podkolzin? He hasn't done enough to be a lock to make the team imo.
Good to see some battles for the last spots on the team. Where does Nick Petan fit if at all?

I only seen the last 10 minutes of the game last night so maybe not fair assessment…but I really noticed Giuseppe..

I think Gadjovich should have a spot (if I'm management I'd fear him getting plucked if he gets waived, plus he looked pretty good out there and can play a power game) and I'd probably have Di Giuseppe on the other wing for some defensive prowess
4th line

Has an actual chance of getting 15 goals each player on that line.
Petey between Hoglander and Boeser, Horvat between Garland and Pearson, Miller between Podkolzin and Lockwood and Dickinson between Highmore and Patan. Then you have Pearson, Miller, Dickinson, Petan and Highmore for the PK

Don't think it makes sense to have Dickinson on the bottom line. We brought him in to be a shutdown center – If your pairing, DGP, Highmoore, Lockwood etc with him on that line then that's not really a shutdown line as none of those players are really defensive stalwarts.
I think the best bet is having the 4th be a crash and bang line that plays a few mins a night only until Sutter, Mott etc come back. As its looking very light on talent and perpose right now.
I'd say – Lockwood, Highmoore, Macewan/DGP might be the best for that – higher engine guys, throw a few hits, Mac can do some fighting if he isn't mugged by badbradnsson.

Playing 4th line can be a thankless job. I don't have a strong opinion who should play on the 4th line. Hopefully Sutter comes back soon. 7:00 squirrel targeting you, Clay…could almost swear it paused to spy on you. Watch your back, Clay! Thanks for posting!
I like Lockwood and we need some young guys to move into the lineup. Maybe gadjovich later in the year Highmore is on the bubble. The rest can come or go.
