Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Texas Stars, 2.27.2026

The San Diego Gulls earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Texas Stars Friday night at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. After a scoreless opening period, Texas struck first early in the second when Jérémie Poirier found the back of the net at 4:25. The Gulls answered quickly, as Nathan Gaucher buried his eighth of the season just 1:55 later off a feed from Nikolas Brouillard to even the score at one heading into the third.

San Diego grabbed the lead midway through the final frame when Justin Bailey notched his 18th of the season at 9:14, finishing a play set up by Cal Burke and Noah Warren. From there, goaltender Calle Clang shut the door, turning aside 28 of 29 shots to earn first-star honors and secure the victory. Despite being outshot 29-24, the Gulls capitalized on their chances and skated away with the two points to close out the season series in Cedar Park.
