From 5⭐️ QB to BUST AT 2 SCHOOLS (What Happened to Ty Thompson?)

Just a few years ago, Ty Thompson came into Oregon as the highest rated QB ever and was supposed to be the next big thing after Justin Herbert. Sadly, he never saw the field because of Bo Nix, did not make things work at Tulane and is now moving to Tight End to try and save his career. Today, I want to talk about how Ty Thompson became a big time recruit, why things did not work at Oregon/Tulane and what could be next for him, enjoy!

  1. At Oregon, we cheered him on every time he sniffed the field. He stuck it out with the coaching staff change and Bo Nix Transfer. Even when he went to Tulane, we supported him.

None of that mattered since he was never good. Such a shame.

  2. When he trotted into games he looked completely lost. He had a deer in the headlights look on his face and looked terrified, like he would rather be anywhere else other than there. His play was absolutely disastrous. Bad things happened even if he was not directly to blame. He was just so uncomfortable. He seems like a great and loyal guy so if football doesn’t work out he will be just fine.

  3. Could you do a video? Did you do a video of Wilton Spade? Or I think there was a quarterback for Alabama like Paul Tyson I think with his name?

  4. Do Jake smith, from Texas-USC-Arizona state. Weird how he played well for Texas but never was able to play meaningful again.

  5. can you do a video on Kenoble from college, a two way standout that could make travis hunter look like dog doo? @Scott fisher @jakeasman

  6. What happened to Popeye Williams? i was on the cg team that put belt to ass to him and last i saw he was on the bench at western michigan even tho i had been told he committed to bama

  7. Sounds pretty similar to Brock vandegriff. High school qbs with power 4 college aspirations need to be playing the best competition possible. Being the hometown hero is great but that’s all you’ll be if there isn’t much opportunity for growth.

  8. What happened to Marcel Brooks from LSU? He was expected to be a standout player for the 2019 national championship team as a true freshman but transferred after the season. After that, he seemingly fell off the radar and hasn’t been widely heard from since.

  9. Ty Thompson isn’t a bust it’s these recruiting evaluations. He dominated very low level of football in Arizona and Oregon continues to misevaluate Arizona talent across multiple coaching staffs.

  10. He never had confidence in being a leader or making decisions on the field. Too many years as a backup.

  11. Nice production. I subscribed. Plan to learn a lot from you in the context of content creation.
Having said that. I’m local – watched Thompson play high school ball in person. Bias acknowledged.

He’s still writing his story – maybe declaring him a bust is a bit pre-mature, maybe even unfair. After all he’s not quitting – he seems to leaning into his athleticism. What he might do best now, and at the next level.

Here is a name for you: Roman Fortin, Atlanta Falcons.

  12. Most people realize there is a huge talent jump from College to the NFL, but not everyone thinks about the jump from High School to College–which is significant it's own right. Sometimes you're just the biggest and fastest kid on the field growing up, but it's extremely rare for any 4 or 5 star freshman come in ready to play. It takes a few seasons, and quite a few of them (maybe even most) never achieve the dominance they had in high school.

  13. Great content. I've never heard anyone pronounce tu-LANE as TU-lane, though. 😉
