THE “WORST MISTAKE” OF CONNOR MCDAVID’S LIFE? EDMONTON OILERS CONTRACT EXTENSION IS GOING HORRIBLY

We’re going over the Edmonton Oilers once more, and asking whether or not Connor McDavid’s extension with the team was a mistake, especially following their loss to the San Jose Sharks yesterday.

  1. Edmonton won’t win a cup, they can’t win with the current roster and they have Mangiapane and Howard as their best trade assets which won’t help them get anyone good. They have no cap space and no picks.

  2. This is actually the perfect time to bring up TEAMS win cups not individual players . For people always pointing McDavid doesn’t have a cup. Oilers are not managed good from the GMs of the past to coaching changes to lots of terrible contracts..cough cough Nurse…

  3. If McDavid wanted a cup so bad, he should have considered moved to SJ. Their prospect pool is second to none. No team is better suited to make a cup run in the next few years than them.

  4. You people in Canada speak about emotional welfare nothing more. Hockey is a game for fans. The rest of it is pure business . Complain all you want Canadians , the players loyalty is to make the best living possible. McDavid has his loyalty to make the best money possible nothing more. The guy did what was best for his life not what was best for the fans . look at it in terms of your own life If you have a better chance to make more money elsewhere you would do that without blinking an eye. This dude Lego would do the same. He would sell you out to make a living first over what his real thoughts are over any topic because controversy sells over what is real. I listen to this young kid for entertainment nothing more.

  5. Hoping the Oilers miss the playoffs and McJesus demands a trade. Oiler's don't deserve to have him on the team anymore.

  6. Everyone is thinking of how nice it would be for McDavid to just sign with their okay team and instantly start winning Cups… Myself included. Just remember that if and when that happens the rest of the league is SCREWED!

  7. I said the day he signed not only would he never win a cup in Edmonton but that his deal was the worst re-signing I've ever seen. Any team that could afford him would have paid whatever he asked, and he literally signed for the same money, didnt even adjust for inflation. And the Oilers got worse before the season… No upside

  8. This is headed right back to a lengthy Decade of darkness. What a horrible owner. Horrific GM, and a bad coach, yet again. Might as well be Kevin lowe. Holland was an excellent Gm, but most of the fan base was and is to stupid to get that. They deserve all they suffer. Ran out Koskinen to bring in Campbell, wasted 2 years in delusion, and then pretended Skinner was elite wasting 3 more. Oilers are a sad bad joke, like most all of the Etown media, and most of it's fans.

  9. I won’t blame McDavid for leaving. He gave this organization absolutely everything and they gave him nothing in return.

  10. To be fair, Kris Knoblauch can't control who they put on this team, and he got them to 2 finals. He did what Jay Woodcroft couldn't do.

  11. Oilers are the worst managed team … they have never drafted defensemen. Drives me nuts when I think about it. I kept saying it foe the past 2 years.

  12. The Oilers will mostlikely make the playoffs… but I would be so happy if they lost in the 1st round
