They have too many holes and not enough assets to fill them.
I liked regula is his little time. He had flashes especially offensively. Could be another emberson where he needed a year to learn and develop unless he does get claimed.
Capologists must feel like they gave birth to someone with an MBA/LB (MBA and a Law Degree). Henrique isn't useless, he's veteran or vintage (you know, like a salmon left out in the sunlight, doesn't age well).
So much work to do from the GM, the oilers staff, the coaches and all the players and goaltenders.
I really don't know if this year is salvageable and if I were bowman, I wouldn't be forfeiting draft picks for buying in now.
The team simply isn't strong enough and we need at least 3-4 new pieces at least on the player side to get the team back up to where it was, including maybe getting rid of knob for another coach.
It's better to make the trades in the off season, give the youngsters the practice they need at the NHL level and start getting rid of old players for young players who can withstand more and have more energy

If Knob had given Mangiapane actual minutes he'd have done a shit ton better! Of course he'll be claimed, he's free grit for any team. I bet Utah or Seattle take him.

Mangiapane has to go but I don't like putting Regula on the chopping block as well. Regula is a decent young D man and our D needs all the help it can get at this point. I don't care if he's not elite nor great. He's still developing. Walman moving to the other side and having Regula in could be a decent pair if we bench Nurse. We have to try something different and I wanted Regula to get another shot. Nurse gets away with atrocious play on a nightly basis and there's never any accountability for it. Any other player would have been benched or sent down for the same play.
