I love this video I burst out loud laughing at least twice. What a cool lady. Subscribed.
He said – choosing montreal was a mistake. 😂 and i think he is right.
Everybody know that in 2022 Montréal need a first line Center * Hence the Rumor was Shane Wright vs Logan Cooley (Cooley was a better offensive player than Wright was more complete) but the habs remember they pass over Brady Tkachuk when they pick #3 #15 Jesperi Kotkaniemi (C/LW).
So instead of going out for the needs they will pick the best player available but before they do that they check what will be the best players in the next 4 years till 2026 after their check they Saw that Slafkovskỳ was an unicorn both Bedard and Celebrini was superior to Logan Cooley or Shane Wright and they a lot of RHD still available in the next 2 years. So they went with Slafkovskỳ.
Not much players out there got the size and the skills so they surprised everyone and pick Juraj Slafkovskỳ as their first overall.
* Until accidently Nick Suzuki became their first line center Suzuki while not dominating the NHL like Nathan Mackinnon, Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby. he is more like the Fomer Bruins Captain #37 Patrice Bergeron. A good 200 ft player. They acquired Suzuki in a trade that send their former Captaine #67 Max Paccioretty to the Vegas Golden Knight in exchange of Nick Suzuki, Tomas Tatar and a 2nd round pick in 2019.
They also took a chance on the 2019 3rd Overall Center Kirby Dach which they acquired throught trades.
Slaf is emerging now as the Habs best and most complete player.
Dear Canadiens fans, I am from Slovakia, and trust me, dont listen to Zigmund Palffy, he is not very intelligent person, he barely managed the elementary school, and high school was too much for him.
i dont know you, you just came up in my videos. to even open up this discussion means you want attention and comments. Im Slovak by the way. We support "Slaf" as slovaks, but he will never ever reach the quality of Ziggy. even if he takes Captaim America formula. Ziggy was recognized as a very very good player by the best hockey players as Crosby, Gretzky, Robitaille, etc. you discussion can and will be simply shut down, with a video of the great one speaking about him. and there is nothing ever anybody can say to change it. Slaf will never end his carrer with higher points as games. period. here you have the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2nufvBxHPE
Number one is Huston!
Palffy was a great player but he is an idiot with too much ego! Very self-centred personality!
Palffy was great hockey player, but really simple, not vety smart
I would say Ziggy Palffy was more an average star who had a few strong seasons in LA on a very stacked team.
Your full of BS
Would NOT trade slafzilla for clebrini . Let that sink in😂 slaf is a beast n we love him in mtl.
Cooley is centre & has suroassed Slaffy, who does not use his size to punish plays like a 5'9 dude
Palfy should shut up 😅
Slafkovsky had definitely been growing every season. And this season he’s been a beast controlling zone entry leading that second line with Demidov and Kapinen. Granted he still has his backchecking lapses, but offensively, on the second line, he has a lot more puck touches than he did on the first line and he’s growing immensely.
Slovakia should be proud of the kid. Slafzilla is becoming the player we all knew he will be and more. Not only is he one of the greatest player the country has produced at a very young age. He's also a great person. Habs fans are happy to have him and would take him any day. If the draft was redone both Slaf and Hudson would be first round top 5 picks. Palffy is just a loser player that is now afraid that he will be forgotten and replaced with a new idol.
Zigmund Who??
With all due respect but Palfy maybe a legend in Slovakia but not in the NHL, Slaf will be 5x better than him
lol nobody is thinking that. Slaf is probably the best Habs forward at present time.
I hope you don’t mind me asking, where did Palffy say this? I’m kinda surprised that I haven’t seen this cause this would have definitely blown up here in Montreal.
Nah, Slaf liked Hossa
Slaf is really surging these last 10 games or so. I truly beleive it is his new normal.
Probably be a regular 70-85 points player moving on.
It takes a lot of different types of players to make a championship hockey team, but without fail, they always include a power forward or two. Montréal HAS their power forward, and were smart enough to lock him up for max term. People were stunned that they gave Slafkovský over $7 million AAV at the time, but he has proven worthy of it. Indeed, it may turn into one of the biggest bargains in the league, akin to Max Pacioretty being a 30+ goal scorer for under $5 million AAV (10 years ago, this was seen as one of the most team-friendly deals in the NHL, for…another power forward). And both Pacioretty and Slaf have this in common – people believed they hadn't proven themselves enough to deserve the money they were paid on their max-term deal (Pacioretty had one good season under his belt when he was locked up for term at $4.5 million, money which he earned during a bridge contract year*). Because power forwards don't just start dominating the NHL in their teens. It takes years for them to grow into their frame, to develop the strength to win board battles, establish space in the slot, and maintain that space when their opponent is politely cross-checking them over and over again, trying to convince them to leave.
Slafkovský may not be generational, but he's DEFINITELY elite (and that was obvious in his draft year). And he plays on a team that has been systematically built the right way, a team that is a contender for the best in the East right now while being the youngest team in the league…a team that still has extremely promising blue-chip prospects in other leagues (Hage tearing up the NCAA, Zharovsky making a rookie-of-the-year pitch in the KHL). If this is what the Habs are now, I cant imagine how dominant they'll be in a couple years.
*Remember bridge contracts?
Palffy is a kind of nerd. He says a lot his specific opinions that soond stupid but he can because he is Palffy and in Slovakia everyone knows aside his explayer qualities about his weaknesses too. Its worth just to laugh. Don’t take it seriously
Palffy will regret it…slaf just played another good game tonite vs vanvouver…3 points….the next anze kopitar
1 less point than Suzuki since mid november and he’s now driving his own line. He’s doing quite fine and Habs fans are happy!
HABS fans are saying Shane who? We love Slaffy, he has really grown up into his position.
Palffy is a moron. Slafkovsky, since being put on the 2nd line, exactly 25 games ago: 27 points (12g, 15a, 1.08ppg, +2), 31 hits, and 28 blocked shots.
Pálffy sounds a wee bit jealous.
