I would trade Matthews, he’s always hurt, every single playoff year his excuse is his wrist or should hurts. If you could get some really great prospects with high end talent and first rd picks you do it, but of course those prospects have to be amazing

Okay but 3 or 4 years ago, they were considered competitors. Why in the world do you trade one if your best players for a prospect during that time?
If I counted correctly, the Leafs have to leapfrog 5 teams to make the playoffs. It's unlikely that will happen.
It might be wise to start shopping Matthews around. I doubt he will want to stay in Toronto after '28.
The anti-Marner fanatics in Toronto insisted his leaving wasn't really that big of a deal.
In fact, Marner's all-around play is sorely being missed.
Clearly this tells us DUBAS had the brain to make things work but Shanahan was blocking him to Strive for greatness….Pittsburgh's moves since Dubas started are almost PERFECT!! I still think Marner should've been a LEAF. Matthews and Rielly could've been traded for a Massive return to solidfy the top 6 and get draft picks

Two things this organization need to do is a full rebuild, including Willy and Auston. Second thing is make that alternate jersey their full time jersey.
Here is the big problem for the Leafs, they have to finish the season with the third worst record to be guaranteed their first round pick because of the trade they made with Boston and because of the draft lottery. Even if they finish with the fourth or fifth worst record they only have around a 50 percent chance at staying there or moving up and a 50 percent chance at falling out, is that right? If so they are in a huge predicament. They are pretty screwed cus it looks like they are going to hand Boston a top ten pick 😂
The facts – the Leafs have achieved little since 1967. You now have corporate suits running the team. If you want real change start cancelling your Sportsnet subscription and stop going to the games. Do this and you will get change, otherwise you are wasting your breath.
I agree John and those 3 are safe 100 % I hate the hate for nylander and Matthews telling me there not safe and shouldn’t be nylander showed up in playoffs and Matthews is fully capable of being productive in big moments just needs a better line !😊

At the very least 10 to 12 players on this leafs team should/need to be traded. It would be foolish, if they don't do this trade deadline. Get as many assets as you can.
I'm worried that the leafs don't make hockey decisions, and they make business/bottom line decisions that has nothing to do with hockey. That's is why, I don't have any faith in this ownership/management group. Sad to say!

During the overtime in the gold metal game Mitch Marner was standing in the zone, not ready for a pass, not ready for a 1 timer, just standing there, got in Cellebrini's way of taking a shot and when it went back the other way he casually skated off and team USA scored.
That's the Mitch Marner attitude Toronto is better off without.
