I don't see much out there the wings can add that will actually make sense in the long term for us to add. trocheck coming in takes a spot away from kasper or danielson next year to fill in the 2c. Top left wings aren't really available. Defense there isn't that much out there and getting another one means sending asp likely to the ahl because playing less than 15 minutes a game is killing his development which is what I was afraid of happening. People were hell bent on claiming he was nhl ready but if the team can't trust him to play more than 15 minutes a game then long term he is being hurt because he could be in GR playing 20+ minutes a game right now. Forward wise getting a top left wing takes away the possibility of Buchelnikov taking the top left wing role next year too. 2nd right wing is the only forward spot that makes sense to replace because kane is falling off hard. His top shot speed this year is only 76.5mph which is one of the weakest in the league for forwards with a minimum of 10 games played and he is not able to defend and being a pp specialist doesn't help in the playoffs when there are such few powerplays. He can't score anymore and copp and cat are doing everything while kane coasts around and takes weak shots on goal. The fact his top shot speed is only 76 mph is disgraceful when there are hundreds if not thousands of high schoolers who can shoot harder than that. We need to think about replacing him asap. That or bring up leonard, lombardi or mbn again and let one of them take that spot and make kane like ovi where he plays basically powerplay and some 5v5. Kane would work as a 4th line wing/pp specialist used for special times but it has become blatantly obvious he doesn't have it. His speed bursts of 20mph+ is 2nd worst out of the forwards with a minimum of 10 games played this year at only 56 total in 44 games and only one of his speed bursts reached 22mph.. yes soderblom with 67 miles skated and appleton having skated 104 miles compared to kanes 124 miles skated have more speed bursts of 20mph or higher. The only forward with fewer speed bursts of 20+ mph is freaking JVR and JVR plays less than kane and is a 4th liner. We aren't playing jvr 17+ minutes a game because he is so damn slow so why does kane get to???
