He's good at one specific type of trade, but he sure as hell isn't good at trading down in the draft. Or drafting in general. You kind of need to be good at drafting and hitting on trade downs to build a team. Hopefully he's learned from his mistakes in Toronto and doesn't repeat them in Pittsburgh.
I am convinced they're going hard after Robertson. Kindel looks great as a rookie but when Sid and Geno go they need a true star. As an RFA they're gonna have to give up picks if the offer sheet goes through and they're gonna have like $20mil in cap space so they can give him an offer that Dallas has to refuse
I really wonder if the Toronto media and fan base ever really looked at themselves as the real reason their team has not won their conference in the playoffs since the 60s. Why the Maple Leafs are on more 'no-trade clauses' than any other NHL team.
It is rare in the top leagues of professsional sports that anyone, even players and fans outside the market, can plainly see that the #1 reason for Toronto's problems is their fan base and media. Yet, this channel still exists.
I'm pretty sure it's why every other fan base south of the border, NEVER views the Maple Leafs as a threat.
I’m shocked he gets a younger defender and 2nd for cap space, he’s playing teams like a fiddle. Wether he trades those picks for something or drafts it’s a genius move no matter how you slice it

People that don't like Dubas are just dumb. His biggest "issues" were dealing with Lou's contracts, and Shanahan's interference.
