Sergei Bobrovsky Comes Out Strong, Florida Panthers Run Away from Toronto Maple Leafs

Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky meets the media after his team beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1 on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, in Sunrise.

Florida took a 3-0 lead on goals by Brad Marchand, Carter Verhaeghe, and Evan Rodrigues as they outshot the Leafs 16-6. Rodrigues, who had a goal and an assist, had 7 shots in the first — most by a Panther in the opening period of a game since Pavel Bure in 2001.

Up 3-1 in the third, Marchand got his second and Matthew Tkachuk added another. Both were into an empty net.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves in the win.

Florida, which had lost five of six coming in, play host to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.
