They've let far too many gifted players go… Hughes played for the Marlies… Sandin, Hyman, Kadri, and not doing enough to keep Marner who is tearing it up with Vegas. The management sucks big time. Look at how Montreal built a solid, talented and young team out of patience and smart management. Long term vision just isn't part of the equation in Toronto where it seems like the management tries to appease the fans instead of looking at a broader- future picture… imho they are grasping at straws and incompetent to have let so many talented players fall through their hands – they just never learn from their mistakes.

Pretty clear there not making the playoffs they all know this but the letter and excuses from Pelley I don’t agree with period. They need to sell this deadline shutdown some guys with injuries and retool it and pray for the lottery. Bigger conversations and trades in offseason. The Management side of the game has been thoroughly disappointing – Berube, Treliving, Pelley, and the cast of 5-6 assistant GMs put together a bad product and set this team up for failure via roster construction, lack of action and systems they play by.
