Hopefully all of the people that think it’s so cool for nhl players to go to the Olympics are happy now that the penguins season is watsted.
I fully believe, like in the past Geno will elevate his game in Sids absence. Its tough losing Sid.

Another day where I will say that the nhl players playing in the Olympics is the worst idea in all of hockey. It’s idiotic for a million different reasons and this injury was inevitably going to happen… but oh well right? Who cares about the penguins, who pays these players checks…. As long as Crosby gets to play for a country we don’t live in, with teammates we don’t root for. Joy! Cuz that’s what’s important. Screw the penguins I guess

For those wallowing in doom and gloom, think back to the beginning of the 2021-22 season when both Sid and Geno were on IR. The team started the season 3-0-2 before losing the two games prior to Sid's return. Guys stepped up, and it wasn't just Jake, or Rust, or Letang. Guys like Danton Heinen, Teddy Bleuger, Evan Rodriguez, and Jeff Carter carried the day.
This team is much better than that team was. Sid will get his return to the playoffs this season.
