I feel like he has grown so much since the olympics. I think he realised how much potential he still has to unlock and how much he can pour into his game when working with such forces by his side. We’re proud of him and we will still be in four years, even more!!
He looks so sad. I hate it just keep your head up and don’t stop trying to do not stop trying like you are a really good hockey player and if you do stop trying, that’s not gonna be good. You can’t let one bad thing but you ruin your entire future of hockey.
If Mack was on the ice, the U.S. would not have scored. Mack would have come back full speed and broken up the play. All 3 guys on the ice hesitated at certain points and that is why Hughes ended up open.
I think the little boy in those pictures he posted before he left would have thought having an Olympic silver medal was pretty cool. In time he will be able to appreciate his accomplishment. He's a class act and will follow in Crosby's footsteps because of it.
I hate them acting like silver is something to be ashamed of. 2nd out of all the teams is still a huge accomplishment, but canada is acting like its a total failure. I get being disappointed but come on guys.
Suck it, Macklin, 'Murica! (JK) Losing will just motivate him to kick our arse next chance he gets. Meanwhile, he's now an even bigger star, which he'll have to just accept begrudgingly.
Sharks really did luck out to not only get the #1 overall pick (although they earned it, lol) but to get it one of the few years a truly generational talent comes along.
To me he was clearly the second best on that team if not equal with McDavid who won the tournament MVP. So he has a lot to be proud of, I hope he can be be glad for that even though they didn’t get Gold.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he spoke to a few of his Olympic teammates about his disdain for the media. It would make sense that it would come up as a coachable thing they would have some advice on. You could kind of see that despite the fucking asinine questions, he treated this media scrum with a bit of a different mindset than he usually does. Seemed a lot looser and more willing. It’s a shitty side of the biz for the players but if he’s gonna be a captain it is ultimately a very important aspect whether he likes it or not.
These questions make me want to cry FOR him. Like “what moments are you replaying that could’ve made a difference”….. are you kidding me ?? Might as well stab him in the heart directly
As a Canadian now living back home, a former Sharks STH and longtime Sharks fan who has watched every game this season, I am happy to say all Canadian hockey fans now know what we Sharks fans already knew – how great Macklin is. I know the silver sucks, but congrats on a great Olympics, that final was so fun to watch, except for the end, and already looking forward to France 2030! Okay, Let’s Go Sharks!! Oh, Btw loved his response to the empathy question lol!
“Give him the C” say the new jacks. He’s not captain material yet. He’s still on an entry level contract for gods sake. It takes more than skill alone and he has a bit of maturing to do. The “A” is good enough for now.
These questions are down right awful, incredibly stupid, and quite frankly disrespectful. Cut the kid some slack!! (And i agree with the other person's comment: I want to know about the elevated cupcake experience!!!)

Loved his answer about empathy for the USA victory, and I’m an American. What a dog

"are you ok with bandwagon fans?" wtf man why would you ask him that? what is he supposed to say, "nah, actuakly, stay tf away from the tank"?
Macklin is better than Bedard.
Some of these questions are genuinely so stupid. Like geezus, have some decorum.

I hope he knows how well he truly did
if you look closely you can see a C on his chest
Rock star.

we're so lucky he's on our team
These questions. Please, fire some of these people 😂 I’ve never done journalism, but I could ask better questions than these questions
Great basically means fine in man language. And we all know what fine means when a woman says it.

What did he do with his stuffed animal? Lol
It’s gonna break my heart into a million pieces when he leaves us for a Canadian team
Sports media is filled with morons

"It's the most media we've had, ever" 😭 (also, what are some of these questions..?)
Celebrini will win a Stanley Cup before McDavid.
There are some incredibly stupid questions here. Mack has more patience then I would have.
How many times are we gonna ask him how he's handling the pressure of something
This is a long one! Kudos for him doing so well fielding all these questions so professionally and authentically. MVP!!

just stupid questions. terrible journalism. “would you go back?” “how long do you think you’ll be sad for?” like COME ON. do better
“Uuhhh yeah” hes so funny poor thing id hate to have to answer these stupid questions l
Poor kid has to be exhausted and jetlagged as hell.
Chad Celebrini
The team is getting so much better. The media is bottom of the league.

Sorry mack even though you're one of my all time favorites i was rooting for USA all the way! Just glad you stayed healthy brother!
Are the reporters daring each other to ask these dumb questions? Like an inside joke the rest of us don't know about?
Why do they ask these insensitive questions? Making him relive it over and over again.
