  1. My gut feeling says Laine, Newhook and Veleno can be moved. They have redundant abilities that can either be filled by current or future roster players. Laine needs a top 6 role so unless he can displace Dach, he doesn’t really have a spot. His main contribution was on the PP but we have ample firepower on the powerplay. Unless he’s firing shots on net with his lethal one timer, he doesn’t add much more that can’t already be done by other guys (and more).

  2. Laine will not be traded, he feels at home, and more important, he is in the top 5 responsible for us making the playoffs last year, while missing about half the season, as for his mobility, try skating with an abdominal tear.
    Good luck

  3. It’s amazing how people forget what Montembault has done for the habs over the years. Don’t count him out! Let see what he does from here to the end of the season.

  4. I thought some random Finnish “journalist” said that Laine had already left the team last week. Hmmm. Looks like the insiders are kicking it into high gear now. Keep up the great work Josh and Jesse. I love the channel.

  5. yeah, its definitely Veleno, Laine, Gallagher… then it becomes i would say much harder, next would be Bolduc|Texier for taking out of the lineup
even Gallagher, only reason is i feel he needs some rest days, it feels or looks like hes playing through something like how Suzuki was earlier in the season

  6. jared mccann to montreal for that coveted 7th rounder, while robert thomas for a 7th rounder in 2031,big trades going down, other teams superstars for relatively nothing..

  7. i think they will try Laine in the first games after the brake so they can show other teams where Laine truly is. would be logical why keep Patric in the picture otherwise? that would be illogical. team would want to know if Laine can help there team on power play at the least no?

  8. Texier>gallagher needs to be a conversation at this point but I hope the time off helps gally.

  9. If Hughes wants to trade Montembeault, he's already made up his mind at this point. He won't decide based on a few games in the next weeks 😂
If anything, if Montembeault plays well, it would be EASIER to trade him. IF AND ONLY IF Hughes has already decided to look out for trade opportunities for him.

  10. Trade Monty and another player/asset for a big shutdown D-man and let Dobes and Fowler battle it out. Monty will be gone in the offseason anyway.

  11. Patrick Roy did fine as a rookie, they had a total of 8 rookies in the roster and they won the cup. I am not saying that Fowler would lead the Habs to a cup but that would be fun to see.

  12. What are the sources of these so-called "Trade Reports"? Is this hype, real…or hyperreal? Why should we care about them?

  13. You don’t get McCann without losing someone back like Dach. We’ve got too many forwards as it is. Something has to give. You can move out 2 forwards and still be crammed up front

  14. Why is no one speaking about trading Jake Evans ( For those Who want to keep gally in the lineup go for parayko a 4th with Evans and Engstrom or Struble

  15. We don't need another goalie, a waste of money. We need a 1st line right winger and a top tier right D-man. Buyout Laine and get Robert Thomas! If we buyout Laine, we will have about 10 million in cap space!

  16. Josh, for the love of god, stop nodding nonstop! It's so distracting. You're fine when your talking but for some reason as soon as you stop talking it looks like your jamming out to some EDM music or something.

  17. I'm not listening to the pundits about Montreal trades. You still have them trying to rep a Nadim Kadri trade to Montreal. Do they not understand that Hughes said we are not in our compete window? We don't want that contract or a player growing into his late 30's. That contract is horrible for us and would block Zharovsky from taking over 2C duties.

We are going to trade Laine without a doubt. That would ease our cap issues since the way bonuses are calculated if any player receives bonuses, those get tacked on at the end of the year and if Montreal goes over the cap, then it rolls over to the next year. A Laine trade would help ease this issue.

  18. Laine's friend leaked to the press, so they probably figure that now the cat is out of the bag they'll dress him so potential trade destinations won't get cold feet thinking he's on IR.

  19. The habs are on schedule if not a bit ahead. Let’s be patient here and not go crazy moving goalies. Dobes and Monty can handle this. Let’s spend assets where we need them if we make deadline moves
