Nothing changed. Leafs wont make the playoffs and he will perform the same as he has in past if they do – He will be the key piece to a cup win in the US when he signs down there as a free agent
The wrong thing to do, is not to realize that the cupboard is bare and it’s time to sell, and I mean literally to the studs. I realize they aren’t going to do what’s necessary, and that’s been the problem here. Arrogance and lack of success don’t change the failures they’ve had, nor does it excuse their mismanagement and or underscore the importance of capitalizing on restocking draft capital. The way they’re doing things now is not the recipe for success and the end results affirm that unequivocally!
Canada couldn't have done more. They out played the US in just about every metric, but it wasn't to be! I think the US realizes how lucky they were to win. What a great game regardless!
Wow. Just Wow. This was not a miracle in any way like 1980 for the USA, and no one alive then thinks it was. To compare them insults that 1980 team. That was literally pros vs schmos and will never be equalled by any olympic team ever. Today was simply two great teams and some of the fastest and best hockey ever seen under the sun by any two teams ever assembled. Like one of the Hughes boys said before the game – in a 7 game series this would probably go 7 games.
