What happened to the time when professional athletes were not allowed to participate in the Olympics? I don’t understand how that a professional athlete even wants to risk injury or worse because of something that honestly doesn’t even matter like the Olympics!

EVEN BEFORE HIS INJURY…I wanted to sit SID down for some games..western road trip..& maybe we should sit RACKEL down as well…put KINDEL with RUST..& AVERY HAYES…a quicker line…that benefits their skill..& giving 2 guys some rest..who need it
Here’s my thoughts on the Olympics, and this has been my opinion since the 90s. NHLers shouldn’t go. Here’s why, in my opinion, as much as I’d like to not side with business, but where else can you work for an employer and then for 3 weeks go work somewhere else. I’m sure there are some examples out there, but this is not the norm. I think it’s also because I don’t understand the patriotism is added to it
Sid has earned the right to do whatever he wants. He's done so much for the city of Pittsburgh. Bring the Gold home to the burgh! 🇨🇦. I can in no way shape or form root for Brady Tkachuk
Its rare opportunity for Sid, should let any decision be up to him. Most likely Sid's last olympics and the players love the competition and lots of pride playing for there countries. If had to guess he may surprise and play finland game but he may sit and rest hoping for a gold medal game. As for rest of regular season and possible playoffs just have to wait and see how plays out.
Playing for your country is fine. Just not with a month left till playoffs begin. If Sid is seriously hurt the penguins won’t make the playoffs. I bet most people watching oylmpic men’s hockey would rather their team make a playoff run for a shot at the cup rather then a short metal tournament. Olympics is outdated
