  1. I really believe Geno will carry this team if Sid misses time like he always has. Avery Hayes might have his chance now after his second hat trick! Just being optimistic 😂😅

  2. You’re right it’s a big deal. The most important knee in the sport this century is being looked at by doctors and we have no idea what’s happening and we have the pressure of international media attention all over it. Social media right now is downright toxic.

And yet, it could be just fine

  3. Me being ever the optimist that maybe: 1. it's not as bad as it seems and it's just a tweak. Or 2. its an MCL sprain and he's out 4-ish weeks. Either way, I will continue to sing the praises of the Ben Kindel draft pick. I am also holding hope that this is a blessing in disguise, and those Wilkes kids are going to GO OFF. Either way, let's cheer our women on and hope for the gold today!

  4. I watched Rod Woodson walk off Three Rivers one Sunday and breathed a sigh of relief. He tore his ACL.

In no way do I intend to foreshadow the worst, it's just I'm certain we can't ascertain anything from what we've seen. It may not be the knee, even.

Having had every reason to believe i damaged my ACL years ago, it was somewhat jarring to find out I actually got the MCL & PCL. At that time, I didn't even know al posterior cruciate ligament was a thing.

  5. If Crosby is seriously injured, the Malkin-Novak-Chinakhov line has to become the first line. Then you make the second line Mantha-Rakell-Rust. Third line A. Hayes-Kindel-Brazeau. Fourth line is LADS.

  6. Hayes is very slow and is rusty. I would rather go with braz- broz- mantha. I think that gives you more energy and a better back checker because thats were k hayes lack of speed hurts most imo.

  7. I get it, this isn't going to be a popular opinion, but the Olympics are not worth the squeeze to me. Crosby, McDavid, Celebrini, etc are the face of their NHL franchises. Risking their health, for games that will be largely forgotten in a month is not worth it to me (it is my personal opinion) – I don't like the break for the non-Olympians, or the wear and tear on the players chosen. Maybe everyone other than I watches these games… however I just don't see the upside…

  8. Watching the game, it seemed like the Czechs were targeting Sid the entire portion of the game that he was able to play. Gudas and others were constantly laying cheap hits behind and away from the play. The hit that actually injured Sid may not have been a cheap shot, but if you actually watched the game there were many other hits not shown in replays that were cheap shots while the puck was nowhere near him and the play was on the complete opposite side of the ice, or in a different zone. It almost looked as if the Czechs gameplan was to attempt to get Sid out of the game by any means necessary…

The only emcouraging thing that I have seen thus far was an interview with Cooper where he stated that Crosby had not played his last hockey game as an Olympian. I highly doubt he was suggesting that Sid would be back in 4 years for the next Olympics (IF the NHL agrees to participate).

  9. DK as a sports doc, when I saw it, I thought MCL sprain (even first degree he's out at least a week)…depending on portion of mcl, meniscus could be involved and if so it all depends on what portion of meniscus and type of tear as there isn't blood supply to most of meniscus…..my guess is 1st to 2nd degree….I'm not sure ACL is involved because on ice you get glide so it doesn't force the rotation through the tibia for ACL to be involved, but can't be ruled out.

side note Gudas always straddles the line, and I'm glad Bieksa super punch him and knock him out, wish that happened that game. I dont' think he will be back for Olympics and at least 2 weeks out
    Let's see
