The first Canadian team he screwed over was Vancouver in 94. The proof of this is that he will never allow two Canadian teams to ever meet in the finals. So crooked. A new look was needed. Stu’s puck handling, poor lateral movement and puck lunging was getting stale and hard on player morale. Kulak passed on signing a new contract during the early season after Ekholm and Walman signed. As a UFA he was posed to walk out the door for nothing. It was prudent move to bring in a young almost developed defenceman a quarter way through the year to get a solid read on the state of team defence prior to the trade deadline.

Oilers D is paper thin ya. They will need to add someone before the deadline. But Jarry is a definite upgrade in net. Oilers will hopefully get a D man to replace kulak or even upgrade him. If not, it's poop city blues in the playoffs. Worst case scenario is possible indeed, but I think this has decent odds to work out over the next 4 months.

Stu is very likeable, but Pro Sports is about… what have you done for me lately? Does Brownie forget that Stu was pulled 4 TIMES in a row when Woodcroft was here and also pulled MANY times under Knobby cause of blowouts and also deflating the Team when they score and then a softie goes in…you literally see the shoulder sag on the bench. Stats dont reflect all of those times… we have a history that has finer details than can be reflected by stats. I like Stu and wish him well, by I dont watch hockey thru Hallmark card sentiments. We fans watch to live vicariously thru the Teams we identify with and we dont want to accept losing… we want to be winners! Jarry isn't the sum total of his stats… this is now a new team chemistry, and that is what will be what we experience…. not what the "experts" on these shows tell us. They have valid experienced-tried opinions, but really they dont know any more than the Zamboni driver, really. The Team chemistry has now changed and the players now will mix a new brew. When Stu invariably bombs out for a few critical games, the talking heads will say the opposite… but really, we watch the games because it's always an unknown mix. Go Oilers!!!
