Jaguars Punter Invents New Punt to Hit Greatest Punt In NFL History
Jaguars Punter Invents New Punt to Hit Greatest Punt In NFL History
Logan Cooke hits a misdirection punt Like I’ve never seen before to hit one of the greatest punts I’ve ever seen… I honestly am just so baffled by this.
I'm seeing a few comments along the lines of "The snap was to his left and he just went with it". So that as a punter is absolutely something that is just forbidden, you see coverage players all release towards where you're going to kick, meaning they're not only running that direction but giving their potential blockers leverage on the opposite side. So lets say you're supposed to kick the ball right and instead kick it left, not only are your players out of position, but now you actually just set up blocks. So in no world would a punter just decide to kick it to the opposite end of the field unless it was already planned and as you can see from the first punt in this clip, he punts it right, everyone releases right, then watch this punt and his gunners release to the left further showing it was planned from the start. Next time I'll go into further detail about how I know it's a trick punt.
Proceeding at an angle from your original facing does not constitute "a new punt" It's just a deception, which is a part of nearly every other aspect of football, baseball, hockey, and basketball, as well as many other contact sports.
Considering the small number of times the ball is actually kicked this game it is interesting to a point. Now go watch an Australian A F L game and see how punting is done in our game, with a ball that bounces anywhere.
Punting is one of the NFL skills: punt, pass, kick. There were about 106 NFL players suited up for that game. Maybe 10 can punt the ball effectively, and none like him. Nevertheless, NFL players (many with no skills, just bulk) mock kickers.
It is possible to punt left even with an open right stance. Punters in AFL and RL have been doing it for years. Every kid in Australia who kicks a football learns how to do it. Punters in the NFL follow through with their foot down the line of the kick. In other football sports with an oval-shaped ball, the kicker will "roll" the ball across their foot, and depending on the direction they wish to kick the football, they will vary the way the foot contacts the football. This is also seen in the round ball game and results in the swerving, diving and bending free kicks.

Randall Cunningham had the best punt I’ve ever seen
As a Jags fan, I just want one season where we don't need a great punter. But sure happy we have one.
I don’t see anything new
Ray Guy. Goat
The AFL says hello mate.

You are really flawed in your analysis
that's absolute garbage put out by Louis Farrakhan. It's a lie to demean Jews. There are Black Jews too.

Ah. More vulgarity. So refined. So… juvenile.

stop slathering him…he is a professional tea sipping punter, all of them are capable of dong that on any given punt.
Ray Guy is the only punter in the Hall of Fame as a punter alone.
Greatest?!? No
Ray Guy
Did the Jaguars win the game????😂😂😂
Did he just say "…cockrocket" and finish the vid with "…a nuts' hairway"? Legendary!
You know what's better than a great punt? First downs… 5 punts in a single game = failure.
2 yard line my butt. Went out at the 1.
Greatness is not determined by one punt but by a career of great punts
Looked to me like the ref spotted it near the 1 yard line not the 2 yard line.
should watch RUGBY, you will see some kicks,

Make sure you get the clip of his foot flying off because he has to punt so much because, Jacksonville

i could see in the future kickers becoming more competitive from influence
Wow. Guy kicks football. Youtuber and commenters are tripping balls over it. Other than a good distance, who cares? It's not that big of a deal.
one punt in a preseason game – and he is the greatest nfl punter of all time ? really?
There is only one punter in the NFL HoF. That's kind of sad really.
They spotted the ball on the 2-yard line, it looked like it should've been the 1 inch line! At least that's how the camera view I'm seeing looks.
Looks like the jags gonna have the best kicking game in the league this year.
Jaguars…PAY THIS MAN MORE MONEY!!!
I missed the part where he INVENTED A NEW PUNT. Are you crazy?
Invents?…don’t think so.
A nut’s hair??
WHAT !!! It supposedly increases 10 fold difficulty oh please what a lot garbage!!
Literal legend in the punting game
Pre season don’t count.
The Best!!! Go Logan!
the most under appricated players in football.. punters and kickers..
It's really not that big of a deal lol. Aim left. Whoa🤯
Greatest punter in the NFL? Unfortunately, playing for the Jags he'll get plenty of chances to prove it.
That's not inventing a new punt…
確かにこんなスゲーパント初めて見た。称賛🎉の言葉が思いつかなくてごめんなさい
Great job turning a 10 second video into a 1.44 of shite.
Lucky punt it could have easily gone into endzone, the change in direction is no big deal
punt oder pant ????
Always amazes me the kicking with extra steps
He's the reason the NFL changed up how they line up for the kickoff
I’m sorry the greatest punt in nfl history was the 98 yard punt to the 1 yard line even if it took an amazing bounce.
