Jaguars Punter Invents New Punt to Hit Greatest Punt In NFL History

Logan Cooke hits a misdirection punt Like I’ve never seen before to hit one of the greatest punts I’ve ever seen… I honestly am just so baffled by this.

  1. I'm seeing a few comments along the lines of "The snap was to his left and he just went with it". So that as a punter is absolutely something that is just forbidden, you see coverage players all release towards where you're going to kick, meaning they're not only running that direction but giving their potential blockers leverage on the opposite side. So lets say you're supposed to kick the ball right and instead kick it left, not only are your players out of position, but now you actually just set up blocks. So in no world would a punter just decide to kick it to the opposite end of the field unless it was already planned and as you can see from the first punt in this clip, he punts it right, everyone releases right, then watch this punt and his gunners release to the left further showing it was planned from the start. Next time I'll go into further detail about how I know it's a trick punt.

  2. Proceeding at an angle from your original facing does not constitute "a new punt"
It's just a deception, which is a part of nearly every other aspect of football, baseball, hockey, and basketball, as well as many other contact sports.

  3. that's absolute garbage put out by Louis Farrakhan. It's a lie to demean Jews. There are Black Jews too.

  4. Considering the small number of times the ball is actually kicked this game it is interesting to a point. Now go watch an Australian A F L game and see how punting is done in our game, with a ball that bounces anywhere.

  5. stop slathering him…he is a professional tea sipping punter, all of them are capable of dong that on any given punt.

  6. You know what's better than a great punt? First downs… 5 punts in a single game = failure.

  7. Punting is one of the NFL skills: punt, pass, kick. There were about 106 NFL players suited up for that game. Maybe 10 can punt the ball effectively, and none like him. Nevertheless, NFL players (many with no skills, just bulk) mock kickers.

  8. It is possible to punt left even with an open right stance. Punters in AFL and RL have been doing it for years. Every kid in Australia who kicks a football learns how to do it. Punters in the NFL follow through with their foot down the line of the kick. In other football sports with an oval-shaped ball, the kicker will "roll" the ball across their foot, and depending on the direction they wish to kick the football, they will vary the way the foot contacts the football. This is also seen in the round ball game and results in the swerving, diving and bending free kicks.

  9. Wow. Guy kicks football. Youtuber and commenters are tripping balls over it. Other than a good distance, who cares? It's not that big of a deal.

  10. They spotted the ball on the 2-yard line, it looked like it should've been the 1 inch line! At least that's how the camera view I'm seeing looks.
