I’ve been pretty strong on the side of make the playoffs now and hopefully go on a run. Don’t see why we can’t roll with what we have now and still make noise in the playoffs. I’m not dealing those future pieces for adding to a team that what I believe is strong enough to make noise without mortgaging the future and adding any more. This team could’ve been a bottom feeder this year so for me let’s just roll with what we have, maintain the future and trust Darche to figure it out in the offseason. If they can steal kyrou that’s fine but this seems like an overpay

Id rather move Palms and Lee (both painful, but old and need to go) and stick to our rebuild plans.

Getting to the cup would take a playoff run never seen before. Im more excited about our prospects than I am about adding Kyrou

I wouldn’t trade any young talent for I’m because Eiserman could quite possibly be what islanders need next year. Islanders weren’t supposed to be this good so why ruin a good thing to jut get a little further in the playoffs which still isn’t a possibility. The Colorado’s first and I’m not sure of the rest. If by some insane miracle the islanders can pull off Kyrou and Thomas then maybe I’d say Eiserman 2026 colorodo first and 2027 first or something but I’m dreaming here

STL is not giving up a 70+ point /yr (obviously tanking this season, but check the last 4 or 5 years) with an amazing contract for peanuts.
As per the Island – Kyrou is an upgrade to this team BUT it must be at a "steal" cost. The Blues looking to get off his contract, and you send mid-tier prospects, and contracts that are up this year (Lee, Pags, Palms). This is where the team is at (IMO) You have 5 main guys that can help you win (Barzal, Heinemann, Horvat, the Rook, Soro), the rest is lower-mid level talent at best. The team needs a point a game player or two, so if you add Kyrou, he should be on your second line (Barzal, Kyrou, Heinemann-who could be a 3rd liner), your first line should be (Horvat, add two wingers who average a point a game or close to it) … now the team is shaping into a contender. I think, Barzal is gone soon, Padds seems to not favor him. And Ritchie, Shabs, Holstrom are underwhelming – Id consider moving on.

I really hope they don’t do this, Blues fans asking way too much for a guy they don’t want. Let someone else guy him.
With the cap going up, Kyrou’s contract makes him more valuable. Armstrong will probably not trade Kyrou during the season unless someone is desperate to get him. I really don’t think the Islanders and Blues are a good fit here. Neither team is really desperate for this transaction. Armstrong and Steen are probably fine keeping Kyrou, and if they did trade him it would be in the off-season in a complicated trade where Kyrou has time to visit any potential new teams and get a sense of how they’ll treat him. Keep in mind, Kyrou has a full no-trade clause so he has to want to leave. So you gotta convince the Blues GM and Kyrou.

As a blues fan I think Doug doesn’t move Kyrou unless the deal returns at least what you’re proposing but maybe a 2nd or 3rd on top of it. There’s a reason he hasn’t been traded the last two years and it’s because Doug isn’t willing to sell him just to sell him. Islanders may have a reasonable chance especially if you’re willing to trade your pick unprotected as of those teams mentioned no offense but the Isles are more than likely the lowest seed. Kyrous contract is good too good with the salary cap going up.
Blues fan here. Kyro is a one way player. He doesn’t back check. A Big, strong, fast goal scorer, but doesn’t “bang” inside his blue line. I’m Not a hater, we like him here, but nobody has come up with a great offer in 1 and 1/2 seasons. Blues want a lot for him.
