Honesty is the best policy for Macklin Celebrini! The young San Jose Sharks star flinched when he nearly took a stick up high from Mattias Ekholm, prompting the ref to blow the whistle for a high sticking penalty, and Celebrini came to Ekholm’s defense!

lol here we go again he didn’t want the call cause it looked like he flopped it, why you think he looks scared when he calls it off
If the skate was on the other foot Ekholm would've taken a big dive and sold it like he lost a tooth
That's a real one. The future is TEAL
Best Lady Byng Trophy contender I've seen so far. Good lad.
Even with all the replays and Celebrini saying he didn’t get hit, they gave Edmonton a two minute minor. 🤦♂️
So y did he throw his head back like that? Should b embellishment lol
What a classy young man. Lots of honour and sportsmanship in that one- his parents should be proud.
He called it off cause he realized it was a dive 😂
If he didn’t get hit why’d he snap his head back for no reason 🤔
He just became my favourite new player. I love that confidence of, "We'll beat them honestly boys."
Celebrini is going to be a name we see for a long time 👏🏼
Yet, he cocked his head up, like he got hit. Ha.
He reacted to the stick coming towards his face but didnt want to be seen as a diver.
And they still gave the penalty to oilers for that
classy guy
I still remember kale makar doing that. Never again tho, wonder if people told him not to do it again lol
Only in the NHL would you ever see something like this. People think because there's fighting the game is barbaric, when in truth it has the most respect and gentlemen ways of any other sport. They settle it on the ice. It doesn't carry over. You're also shunned if you get a booboo and leave the game. Unlike basketball lol.
The coach 😠
The fans 🤝
The fact he did this on the road is even more impressive.
Hard to make me a fan of a player from another team. WOW. pure class!
The vets gonna respect the kid for this one
That is so highly respectable. Muscle memory took over and he made sure to let the refs know that he didn't get hit. THAT is class.
My respect for him increased by 110%. Never seen this before.
Good kid.
Smart move! Now when hes in a important game and he says he got hit, refs will beleive em even if hes lying😂😂
Which rookie was it that did the exact same thing and got an embellishment penalty for it? They didn't even call off the original penalty. Was it Bedard?
Cale and now Macklin. Got some good yutes in the ligg these days
Why did he do the head thing in the first place
Absolute legend and a lot of respect you inspire me makilin I want to make it there to one day
Still gave him the penalty lol
Idiots always call a dodge a dive. Of course you try to move your face out of the way when a stick slashes near.
Canadian…YEAH!
The coach was probably pissed
this guy has single-handedly made the sharks my second fav team
Bedard wouldnt do this
Auston Matthews sold a BS call 4 days later in that building for a 1:50 5 on 3. Respect Macklin way more than Purse Boy
That’s why I love this kid
my new favourite player.
Honest but he tried to sell it with that reaction to get a call..? ok
OV set the tone
young and fair… wow, hat off
Is LeBron watching?
Compare to European soccer Fußball where they fall down, writhe in pain over nothing and hope to fool the referees
