I really hope one day very soon it will just click in Slafs head and he'll be able to use his skills in a competitive game. He has great puck control and some sick moves up his sleave, but he's not used them in a competitive match yet.
Slaf is a beast of puck retrieval and puck protection. This is why he plays on the 1rst line, this is why Montreal's first line is amongst the best 5 vs 5 lines in the league, despite having Caufield and Suzuki on the line. Slag will be even better this year.
Knowing your role is key in the league. Laine is a hired gun for the pp ! And everyone needs that, it opens up the ice for everyone and everything . Slav is a big body to go to the hard places and come out with the puck .

Last year of Laine. His current contract will end, and his salary will go waaaay down. If there's even any takers left.
