   He held all the cards in this deal. LA was the only team he wanted to go to, so that’s why the return is what it is. Greentree is an excellent prospect.

    It's insane that Drury wasn't able to get a conditional 1st when Greentree is, let's be real, a B to B+ prospect, maybe a 2nd liner down the road.

    Karma is a bitch. NYR thought it was pretty funny when Miller handcuffed the Canucks with only one destination and they could hose them on a trade. Chytl is already done. Mancini is up and down in the minors, and they traded the draft pick away.

    I laugh when i hear ppl say they should have gotten more for him. Panarin is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year w/ a full no-move clause AND according to multiple reports he would only waive the no movement clause to go to LA. Which the Kings knew about. The Rangers basically had ZERO leverage. Look i'm not a fan of Drury and you can shit on a lot of his moves and blame him for how the team is constructed, but in this particular scenario, he did as good as he could. It's a miracle they even got a strong prospect and some picks. The alternative was to play hard ball with LA and no doubt have LA go nope we'll wait until the off season and try to sign him then. Especially since they knew they were one of the very few teams outside of the Rangers that Panarin would want to play for. Which means the Rangers would have let him walk and wound up with nothing.

    If florida wanted to threepet should have taken him. He was only scorer and had more years he doesn't get hurt. This was a salary dump and coming in last place gives them better choice for top draft pick

    they got a young player that was a first round pick in '24 and was a beast in his last few seasons in the OHL, and a 3rd round pick for a 34 year old guy who is on an expiring deal they were not going to re-sign. Should/could they have gotten more yeah possibly but it beats getting nothing.

    As a lifelong Rangers fan, in all honesty I’m not too mad. Disappointed yes absolutely but not raging mad. Yes obviously a first rounder would’ve been great plus Greentree and maybe a Turcotte if we were lucky but, Panarin is 34 on an expiring deal with a full NMC. The Rangers said they would move him to his preferred team so they lost all leverage. Greentree is a great prospect, a first round selection and Canadian World Juniors member so I have high hopes for him. However, with that being said I think it’s time to move on from Drury now

    I learned the rangers and prospects don't get along well when they drafted Dan Blackburn from my local WHL team, brought him up to early and he ended up damaging the nerves in his shoulder from over working them at the NHL level before the muscles were really developed. That's what caused Blackburn to try the dual blocker for a season.

    And yes I understand that nerve damage is beyond theyre control but they could have let him stir in the WHL a little longer. Build up the muscles and have them develop to the point they need to and avoid the entire incident

    It's hilarious seeing this return after you just made a video on the Carlo trade yesterday.
    I know the Leafs are Laughs, so it doesn't really count… But seeing Drury get a weaker return for Artemi-freakin-Panarin compared to what Boston got for Carlo is genuinely wild.

    Drury didn’t have a choice. Panarin only agreed to go to LA Drury had to take whatever LA was offering. Drury has his flaws but his hands were tied. I think Panarin is a dick and good riddance. This 2 year deal was him literally giving the finger to the Rangers. If he was open to a 2 year deal Drury would’ve resigned him this past summer. He obviously did not want to be a Ranger anymore otherwise he would’ve taken the 2 years in NY.

    Yeah Drury was in a position but come on a prospect ( that NY can’t develop) and a 3rd. LA gets a top scorer and we paid 1/2 his salary. Drury has proven in the past that he’s clueless in running an organization. What Dolan sees in him idk. Why breadcrumbs wanted LA they aren’t making the playoffs, pick a contender go as a rental then go wherever you want. Watch he’ll score more points than NY’s top 2 scorers.

    Sorry Rangers fans for piling on. Saw Greentree at LA Kings Rookie Games. Underwhelming at best. Did not dominate either of the two games. Did not score a goal. For a big guy, played on the perimeter. (it was strange that the LA Kings used him as a left winger, when he plays right wing in juniors.) Usually if you have a hot prospect, you keep him on for a nine-game proving stint in the NHL before you have to send him back to Juniors. The Kings sent Greentree back to Juniors well before the end of training camp. And his production is down this season (perhaps that a partner was traded to another organization made Greentree a better player.) Barely sniffed the ice at the WJC.

    I just can't see Panarin fitting in with the systems of LA super defensive team and that's the focus. That's why the Kings don't score goals I mean sure they do lack a bit of offensive talent but the reason they don't score a lot is self inflicted. Still a no brainer for LA and nice to see them go for it for once

    Seeing Greentree's point totals regress once Protas left is very concerning but I think he should project as a 3rd liner with just his raw talent and frame saying that I'm sure the Rangers can find a way to ruin him

    I love Greentree. He was one of the final cuts for the kings this season coming off of wrist surgery that had him miss the first bit of training camp and in a wrist brace. The downtick in his production can be attributed to both the wrist surgery and losing his linemate in Ilya Protas which certainly doesn’t help
