The New York Rangers definitely do not have a top prospect pool in the NHL, but they did add Liam Greentree from the Artemi Panarin trade, who instantly becomes one of the team’s top prospects. So does this mean that Aspinall is better than Greentree? Went to the Sens-Crunch game last night & there were 3 hockey savvy young men behind us. They obviously had never been to an AHL game. They were awestruck by two things comparing it to the OHL which they had seen a lot of. First they noted how big the players were compared to Junior(men not boys) & secondly they noted that the AHL was "way faster" than the OHL. If you are a poor skater the AHL will be death for you! Glad to hear how well Gonchar is doing. IMO an NHL team needs two gifted offensive D & four defense first D who are good to great in the D zone. I said to my friend that the Syracuse goalie was huge. Turned out to be Halverson who was drafted by the Rangers two rounds before Igor.
Both Aspinall and Greentree are not great skaters hopefully one of them pans out to be a decent 3rd liner. Would like to see Aspinall in HFD next year and Greentree up.
