  1. So we would have Suzuki, Oreilly, Kapanen, Danault and Evans? Why bother? Oreilly is old and won’t push the needle.

  2. lets wait 24 month and if mcdavid doesnt have a ring might come cheap on a good montreal team , come on boys think BIG .

  3. Let’s get ovechkin….😅…
You obsessed fans make me laugh.
If anything happens it’s laine dach and reinbacher for kyrou.

  4. I don't think it's a good fit, he didn't like Toronto and the media… I think he prefers that American city where you can be more low key

I'd rather improve that big winger slot for the #1 line , rather see a Bobby McMann, physical forward , can score and delivers hits

Assume trade cost will be picks for Toronto since it's basically rebuild/retool and can't be that much… Ryan o Reilly to me will be more significant … They let go Trotz unless new GM can be taken advantage of , don't see much reason, rather see the second line get full playoff experience.

    If not traded…
Then third line of Dach Newhook Texier
4th line of Evans Danault Anderson/Gallagher

Ideally someone in bottom 6 goes to make room

  5. People have to be smart . Which team has mtl made the most recent deals with?
    Bolduc Texier Blais ?
All St. Louis former players …
    Jordan kyrou is coming

  6. Hi O'Reilly doesn't want to play in a zoo like atmosphere, so forget montreal. also hughes doesn't look like he'll give good assets just to make 2026 edition just a bit better, opinions i respect, but geez let's listen to the man who's building this team 👍.

  7. Kappy has been sooo good, would be a shame to break up that line when they’ve performed so well.

  8. No thank you on O'Reilly. At all. I'd rather see Demidov and Slaf keep playing with Kapanen and continue developing that amazing chemistry. O'Reilly would only slow Demi down.

  9. Seriously, I enjoy a good rambling about hockey but at some point you’re just making stuff up.

  10. Its just what these guys do. They speculate to drum up clicks and you guys really shouldn't hype this up.

  11. Patrick Laine got contract ending payments coming for February & March. So why would you "attached asset" and retaining 50% of his Salary?

  12. No thanks on 35 year old O'Reilly. This team's championship window is just opening, they are not Cup contenders this year, save your assets and get someone in their mid 20's when the time is right.

  13. This is a curious discussion. When I look at the 2026 Montreal Canadians I see a team on the rise as most should. I see a young group, who are very offensive minded and have proved, so far, to be able to score a lot of goals. However, bringing in another FW who can provide physicality or toughness is secondary when considering the Habs most glaring need. The Habs have the THIRD WORST Goals Against stats in the Eastern Conference. Now some will say thats ALL on the Goaltenders and yes some of the blame can be directed to them, however, its also partly to blame on the Defence. My preference would be to bring in a DEFENSIVE minded Dman. One who can block shots and clear the crease and limit secondary chances. This type of player would be much more affordable than most FW. Can you imagine just how many more wins the Habs would have if they were even 8th in the Conference for GA, versus the 13th that they are now? It works out to about 3 wins more. Montreal would be tied for the Conference lead!

  14. You go for the stanley cup now. You dont wait. If st-louis blues make a fire sale, Montréal should grab everything of value.
    defenseman + winger + center

  15. The issue I have with this conversation is that we tend to focus on stars. But stars tend to shine in teams that are built around them, and confine the bottom six to gritting roles in shitty shifts. The Canadiens expect every lines to contribute on both sides of the ice. That's why players like Texier who are neither stars nor goons can perform well in Montreal. We should look for players who would fit well in the team culture. And find a solid defensive minded D.

  16. Reilly makes no sense, we have 4 centers now, we have too many forwards, the only way it makes sense is if evans goes the other way, you need Kappy to develope as a center and learn to play playoff hockey as a center not a winger. I would much rather take Mccaron for evans. More fit for the playoffs

  17. O'Reilly for Laine is a good move as long as it's only a 2 year contract. He's 34 so a longer contract may not be wise. That said I feel better about a 34 year old O'Reilly than I do a 27 year old Laine

  18. Patrik Laine has no place on this roster. Who gets subtracted if he were to be added? He doesn't fit in the top 6, and you've got Newhook coming back. Cut him loose!!! Your opinion hurts your validity as a channel to pay attention to.

  19. Ryan will not come to a team like Montreal with the pressure cooker we have here. He didn’t want to stay in Toronto for just that reason. He doesn’t seem like the type of person that wants that in his career. I think he would say no to that option.

  20. Might sound crazy but the goalie coach choice I would be phoning up and offering an interim goalie coach opportunity to would be non other than……. drum roll please………
The PRICE is right!!!! PRICE coaching what is believed to be the HABS FUTURE IN NET, JACOB FOWLER….. It sure sounds nice and feels right….. Why not give him a chance? MSL is working, I think Carey would too‼️❤️

  21. the Habs are just fine , we don't need to dump , trade or giveaway anyone at this point the team is killing it in my opinion , we do need help in a couple of areas but not enough to start talking about every player that might be coming onto the market , Kent will lay back ,take his time and people like always will be WTF ??? the Habs won that trade by 10 miles ..have faith and patience …Kent is cooking the BLUELINE stuff

  22. Who will they remove to make space for O'Reilly…Texier, Danault, Gallagher, Laine,…? They already had to remove Blais which I didn't like, cap space is not the big problem, its the maximum players

  23. Why do you hate laine that much he’s the reason we made playoffs last season and this season if we make playoffs he’s essential on the pp

  24. Quit taking info from "Fakeout Friedman". Unless Nashville comes down on their asking price (and given if O'Reilly wants to leave Nashville), its going to be costly to get him. I recalled that Trotz wanted a Grade A prospect (like Hage or Fowler) and a 1st round draft pick at the very least for him. I would not expect Hughes and Gorton to get a 2C until the off-season as the trade deadline is super expensive. Ilia Ejov aka Ilya Yehzov played for the following teams: In the Q 2005-07 with the St. John's Fog Devils, Melfort Mustangs in the SJHL, St. Petersburg affiliates before going up and the KHL and bounced around to a number of teams. His stats look okay, although he played for a number of teams that were likely not in playoff contention. He was on 2012-13 SKA St. Peterburg when Bobrovsky was there. 12 seasons in the KHL and then played a couple seasons with the Laval Petroliers in the LNAH most recently before becoming the new Laval Rocket goalie coach.

  25. Throw an offer for jasper walstedt! We need a goalie and he and Fowler could be the future! I am not sold yet on dobes 🤷‍♂️!

  26. No thanks on O’Reilly. I care how old. Don’t need anyone up front. Need heavy d players. You know like B Chairot. Those guys. Punishers. We have only and he’s getting splinters.
