  1. Panerin held the cards & played them. This is the problem with signing everyone of worth to a no trade clause. Hopefully this kid is decent, but no we didn’t get any semblance of value back for a borderline superstar.

  2. He would be viewed in a completely different light if he were able to be in the AHL this season. CHL-NHL transfer agreement is archaic. A D+2 regression in a weak league is a major red flag but the wrist surgery partially explains that dip. Don’t think it’s fair to say the kid sucks like I’m seeing some fans say or that he’s a Protas merchant until we see him against better competition. He seems to have lateral agility and quickness but lacks the sudden immediate burst that very few power forwards have. If he can improve his lower body strength and first few strides he can be a player. Skating can be improved. Hockey sense and shot he already has
