Panarin performance is not the issue or where he wanted to go. The issue is Drury sucks and needs to go. Along with Ortmeyer and Glass cause they cannot develop anyone in the system.
Any other GM gets a first round pick for Panarin. If Drury couldn't get what he wanted, he should have at least tried to give Panarin the same 2 year extension that LA did.

Nah, I can't do it. I can't tag on " Greatest Ranger " anything.
Sure, he's been an immense offensive talent. Sure he put up big numbers.
But he's also a major defensive liability and a part of the Core's soft culture, the past 6 seasons.
He's part of the reason why this team was never a legitimate Cup Contender.
He was stubborn as hell with four different coaches: in trying to get him to clean up and greatly diminish his stupid giveaways / turnovers.
He and the other Core players insisted on playing their unnecessaryfancy pants east / west perimeter passing game, despite four coaches repeatedly instructing them to take the puck to the net and shoot more.
I can't count how many of Bread's careless, reckless passing/playmaking decisions blew up in his face: going the other way for a goal against; both in the Regulation Season and Post Season.
He gave us some wonderful memories. But not the Cup Winning memories we all need.
He's not putting yhe Kings over the top.
The Kings are gonna' have a hell of a time implementing Bread into their system, and compensating for his poor decisions with the puck.
Then you keep him on your roster "till he changes his mind or LA makes a better offer.
I thought of this immediately, and this dude is the only one to bring up, that he gave the rangers a great deal for 6 years. You guys didn’t get nothing for him. You got 6 years of a really good player that could have gone anywhere else at the time.

Panarin is a rare talent but he wanted to be a Ranger in the first place for the city and what it offers. Now he chose LA for the place not the team. He does not have winning in his makeup. LA is not a contender and he doesn't care. But that doesn't change that Drury is a hack and way out of his depth.
He was a ghost in the playoffs where it matters most. These no move clause trades are atrocious and idk why they do so many.
I hope the Rangers have learned their lesson about no trade clauses

Drury shouldn’t have shown his hand to the whole hockey world weeks before the trade took place. He caused his own problems by dealing from a weak position. Awful trade for the Rangers.
He could go to Tampa and rangers would have better deal out of it too.
