Knob isn't going anywhere, he's McDavid's go to. Biggest problem with this team, is that they are not acting or playing like a team. That's on the coach and the captain.
I'd love Coffey to return, but that said, what's Duncan Keith doing these days… he might make a good coach.
The last two seasons fans were writing off the season, and wanting to fire/trade personnel, yet each year they came together and had long playoff runs. LGO!
Bobby McMann would be a good fit for the Oilers, but there is no way any team will pay a 1st Rd pick. Panarin just got traded for Liam Greentree and Conditional 3rd- and 4th-round picks.

Damn, I thought this was an update saying Paul Coffey was joining. I feel a little bit baited š© so nothing new basically. Got it. Fingers crossed heāll come back. I did hear that the travel schedule was really hard on him flying everywhere all the time. I also heard he may have clashed with other others in the coaching staff, but he was obviously doing something right so bring him back.!! š©
Of course we need Coffey back in the locker room, he is not afraid to voice his opinion, Knobby and his staff are too soft. Doesn't matter if it's for a short period of time, time is running out for the Oilers, and this needs to get fix quick.
Haven't made many comments lately BUT I have to say this Bouchard , I don't care what you people think about him and I totally agree with him NOT being on team Canada because of what others see in his play. He makes too many costly mistakes and the team lose the game. He's making way to much money where the team could have gotten better forwards. Look because of high salaries with some of the players that deserve this kind of compensation, not everyone is entitled, Keep it simple. Watching the last few games I saw players that had an extra 30 lbs on their backs and some were thinking of what they were going to do after the game. It's depressing and the attitude of the players ( well get your heads out of your butts ) focus on the game. HEY its a great bunch of guys so lets get it together.Also Chris leaving isn't the answer, he's a great coach.
There's a moment that stands out to me, Clattenburg had just scored a goal to drag the lifeless oilers back into the game and Knoblach benched him for the next 16 minutes of the 2nd period and 4-5 minutes into the 3rd period. The youngest guy scored a goal and was punished. Now the oilers did take a bunch of penalties to delay playing Clattenburg but he also gave the 3rd line minutes before the 4th line. He literally just hates watching dudes score goals that he didn't coach them to score.
Bring Coffey in for the short term, it canāt get any worse!

I have watched the Oiler's since 1979 we won the cup when we learned to play defence charlie huddy ,kevin low randy greg , lee foligno steve smith . and so on but oiler fan name me three stay at home defence men on this team. And people bring Coffey back we will not win the cup coffey is not defensive mind coach or player he is all about offence. And a head Coach that only play two lines .no wonder play done to come to the oiler.

The coach has not made the poor choices with signings. Examples Fredrick and Mang . Not keeping Foegle or Perry . All poor decisions. Getting out of the first round this year will be a miracle.

Knoblauch didn't "get" us to the finals, we got there in spite of him (like Skinner); never should have fired Woody so quickly. Knob got totally schooled in coaching in the finals both years. Need to replace him and even more so whoever is running the D and the PK because omg.
If they don't make any coaching changes, I'll be surprised if we make the playoffs (we're in 2nd, but look at the win %, games in hand etc; we're barely in the last wildcard spot).
Stop giving players 2 minutes a game on line 3/4 and then benching them because they don't score. Pick a 3rd line, and keep them together for a while and give them ice time! And stop playing McDavid on the PK what a waste of his ice time
When Paul Coffey was on the bench for the Oilerās 2 runs at the cup they still couldnāt do it. Adding him back to the bench would INCREASE THE PROBABILITY of them getting more wins, BUT the PROBABILITY of them winning the Stanley Cup is STILL far from the 2 chances they had previously

Coffey as HC. Hire Todd Nelson as assistant coach. Nelson was never given a fair chance by this organization. He did well with a less skilled Condors team back then, won multiple championships in the AHL, and now it seems like the Pensā offence is clicking. Give him another opportunity. When Coffey is ready to step away, then Nelson succeeds.
